Abstract: Disclosed is a method for power management of a User Equipment (UE) in multi-rat dual connectivity state. The method includes determining whether one of a first parameter or a second parameter related with an uplink data is met, when the UE is in the MR-DC state and comparing, when one of the first parameter or the second parameter is met, a value of a connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) configuration of a master cell group (MCG) cycle and a value of CDRX configuration cycle for a secondary cell group (SCG) cycle, wherein the UE is in the MR-DC state with the MCG and SCG. The method further includes determining an optimal CDRX configuration cycle among the MCG and the SCG based on a result of the comparison and transmitting the uplink data to a network entity over one of the MCG and SCG based on the optimal CDRX configuration cycle.

Abstract: A method for a data session switching by a User Equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes monitoring network broadcasted parameters of a second Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) of the UE while performing a Fifth Generation Cellular Network (5G) data session over a first SIM of the UE, where the first SIM is configured for a Default Data Service (DDS), detecting that a trigger criterion is met for the 5G data session switching to the second SIM based on the network broadcasted parameters, and in response to the trigger criterion being met, configuring the second SIM for the DDS for continuing the 5G data session over the second SIM.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method for handling communication in a wireless network by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes receiving a non-access stratum (NAS) message indicating that the UE is not permitted to access a first public land mobile network (PLMN) over a satellite communication along with geographical indication or a timer indication from the first PLMN. Further, the method includes determining a geographical area based on the received geographical indication or a timer value based on the timer indication. Further, the method includes starting a timer with the timer value. Further, the method includes determining that the UE is not allowed to access the first PLMN in the determined geographical area or the expiry of the timer. Further, the method includes performing a PLMN selection and registration procedure on a second PLMN based on the determination.

Further, the method includes registering with a first network through a second SIM, in response to determining the second SIM is registered with a second network with a second RAT. The method includes availing the first data services from the second SIM that is registered with the first network, while engaging in the voice call on the first SIM.

The method includes: receiving system information including information on an NR band list supported in the ENDC; identifying, based on the system information, NR bands supported at LTE frequencies of Long Term Evolution (LTE) bands in a most recently used (MRU) LTE frequency list of the UE; prioritizing the LTE frequencies in the MRU LTE frequency list, based on the supported NR bands and an ENDC capability of the UE; and performing a cell selection based on the prioritized MRU LTE frequency list.
