Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for handling Internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) and circuit switch fall back (CSFB) calls at a user equipment (UE) in a wireless network. A non-access stratum (NAS) of the UE receives an IMS indication when an IMS call is initiated at the UE. The NAS determines a state of the UE. The NAS performs an action based on the state of the UE to trigger one of the IMS call and a CSFB call.
Abstract:
A wireless communication method supporting a Rich Communication Suite (RCS) service, the method including performing an RCS provision operation corresponding to an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) application in response to an RCS service request of the OEM application, transmitting an RCS function connection request to a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) transport layer after the RCS provision operation is completed, controlling a session for an RCS function based on the RCS function connection request to obtain a dedicated bearer, and exchanging RCS media data with a network through the dedicated bearer.
Abstract:
Methods and User Equipment (UE) for managing IMS call over LTE in SRVCC area are provided. The method may include detecting, by an IMS client, that the IMS call over LTE is in an alert state, and a Radio Resource Control (RRC) reconfiguration cells are configured for the IMS call over LTE. Further, the method may include initiating by the IMS client a timer with a value less than a data inactivity timer value from a network entity. Further, the method may include detecting by IMS client that the timer has expired before establishing the IMS call over LTE and restarting by the IMS client the timer. Furthermore, the method may include sending by the IMS client a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message to the network entity.
Abstract:
A method for handling an ATTACH reject message with packet radio service mobility management reject cause number (#14 cause) at a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes receiving, at the UE, an ATTACH accept message for a network service on a public land mobile network (PLMN) from a first network entity, wherein the PLMN is in a “forbidden PLMNs for general packet radio service (GPRS) service” list, detecting, by the UE, that the UE's evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) capability is disabled, and enabling, by the UE, the UE's E-UTRA capability and removing the PLMN from the “forbidden PLMNs for GPRS service” list.
Abstract:
A method of establishing Internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) sessions at a mobile originating (MO) device includes establishing, with a mobile terminating (MT) device, a first IMS session over a first network, determining that the MO device failed to receive a response from the first network within a predefined time period after the establishing of the first IMS session, establishing, with the MT device, a second IMS session over a second network, based on the determining that the MO device failed to receive the response from the first network, terminating, based on a content of a dedicated bearer, at least one of the first IMS session or the second IMS session, and communicating with the MT device over a remaining IMS session from the at least one of the first IMS session or the second IMS session.
Abstract:
A method and system for enabling a User Equipment (UE) to quickly recover back to normal service on failure of registration attempt to a selected Closed Subscriber Group (CSG) cell or loss of coverage of the selected CSG cell is provided. The method provides a UE behavior during manual CSG selection mode when the selected CSG cell is associated with a different Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) than the Registered PLMN (RPLMN) of the UE. The method also defines the UE actions to handle a user request to change a current Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) selection mode and handle expiry of a Home PLMN (HPLMN) timer in the UE, when the UE is attached to the selected CSG cell in the manual CSG selection mode.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a system, User Equipment (UE) and method for preventing voice call (VoLTE) call drops in a communication network. A paging message is received as an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) invite message. The paging message includes a domain, or the UE establishes a connection with the network, in order to determine whether the IMS invite is for a voice call. A condition of non-sustenance of the voice call is detected based on a power level check for the UE and Extended Service Request (ESR) is triggered. The voice call is continued according to a success or a failure of the ESR.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method of selecting Public Land Mobile Networks (PLMNs) in a manual PLMN selection mode are provided. The method includes selecting a PLMN as a network that the terminal will be attached to in a manual PLMN selection mode, storing the selected PLMN in a user selection PLMN list, and selecting, when the terminal attempts recovery to receive normal services in a limited service state, a PLMN to be attached to a network based on at least one PLMN included in the stored user selection PLMN list.
Abstract:
The various embodiments herein provide a method and system for optimizing Closed Subscriber Group (CSG) selection in wireless communication. The method comprising steps of initiating, by a user equipment (UE), a manual CSG selection, verifying if a manual CSG selection request is new, storing a registered public land mobile network (RPLMN) and a corresponding public land mobile network (PLMN) Selection mode if the CSG selection request is new, changing a PLMN selection mode and the CSG selection mode to MANUAL, registering the UE on to a user selected CSG cell, storing one or more parameters associated with the user selected CSG cell if the registration is successful irrespective of CSG cell belonging to RPLMN or different PLMN and selecting the user selected CSG cell using a stored PLMN ID and a CSG ID combination in the current PLMN selection mode during power off and power on.
Abstract:
The present disclosure refers to methods and systems to reduce delays in VoWI-FI handover and packet switching registration. The method includes triggering a Router Solicitation Router Advertisement (RSRA) procedure to establish a Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) interface based on a determination that the VoWi-Fi handover of a user equipment (UE) is to be performed, determining if a router advertisement (RA) is received within a first time interval, and obtaining a full Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) address previously used by the UE in response to determining that the RA is not received within the first time interval, the full IPv6 address being for establishing the TCP/IP interface with a network.
