Abstract: A spring return throttle actuator including: an electric, plural-coil DC motor having an output shaft, a throttle return spring, a gear transmission connected to the output shaft, a control unit adapted to control power supply to the DC motor, wherein the spring return throttle actuator has a movement range between closed throttle and opened throttle. The control unit is arranged to short-circuit at least two DC motor coils in order to create a DC motor return resist torque, and the return spring is balanced such that generated spring return torque over the whole movement range of the actuator does not exceed said DC motor return resist torque. The invention also relates to a method and a throttle assembly.

Abstract: A spring return throttle actuator including: an electric, plural-coil DC motor having an output shaft, a throttle return spring, a gear transmission connected to the output shaft, a control unit adapted to control power supply to the DC motor, wherein the spring return throttle actuator has a movement range between closed throttle and fully opened throttle. The control unit includes a monitoring circuit adapted to monitor DC motor movement. The monitoring circuit is configured to receive signals from at least one voltage sensor adapted to sense voltage induced in at least one of the DC motor coils during a spring forced return of the throttle, and the monitoring circuit is configured to create a representation of DC motor movement based on said signals.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing aftertreatment of exhaust gases resulting from combustion, wherein at least a first substance resulting from said combustion is reduced by supplying additive to an exhaust gas stream resulting from said combustion and use of a first reduction catalytic converter. The method includes: estimating an accumulated expected reduction of said first substance during a first period of time, determining an accumulated actual reduction of said first substance during a period of time at least substantially overlapping said first period of time, and generating a signal indicating a fault in said reduction of said first substance when said accumulated actual reduction differs from said accumulated expected reduction by a predetermined difference in occurrence of said first substance. The invention also relates to a corresponding system.

Abstract: An arrangement for cylinder detection in a four-stroke internal combustion engine is disclosed. The arrangement comprises a first disc connected to a crankshaft, the first disc comprising a first mark (M11-M13) within each an interspace angle (α), and a second disc connected to a camshaft and comprising one second mark (M21-M26) per number of cylinders. The first mark (M11-M13) is arranged on a first disc, or the plurality of first marks (M11-M13) are arranged in relation to each other on the first disc, and the second marks (M21-M26) are arranged in relation to each other on the second disc such that for each interspace angle (α) the relevant first mark (M11-M13) is detectable by a first sensor and the relevant second mark (M21-M26) is detectable by a second sensor at different relative rotational positions between the first disc and the second disc.
