摘要: An engine controlling method is provided, which includes, during motoring of the engine, outputting, by an in-cylinder pressure sensor, to a controller a signal indicative of a reference pressure corresponding to a pressure change after an intake valve of a cylinder of the engine is closed when not performing fuel injection, and then injecting, by an injector, fuel for analysis into the cylinder at a specific timing after the intake valve is closed. The method includes, by the controller, acquiring a crank angle period from the intake valve close timing, through the fuel injection, to a timing of the in-cylinder pressure reaching the reference pressure based on signals from the in-cylinder pressure sensor and a crank angle sensor, and determining a property of the injected fuel by comparing the acquired crank angle period with that of a standard fuel based on stored information on a property of the standard fuel.

摘要: An estimation device applicable to a combustion system having an internal combustion engine includes a mixing acquisition unit, a combustion amount estimation unit, a region estimation unit, and a timing estimation unit. The mixing acquisition unit acquires a mixing ratio of various components contained in fuel used for combustion in the internal combustion engine. The combustion amount estimation unit estimates a combustion amount of fuel caused by a post combustion generated by injecting fuel into a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine by post injection, based on the mixing ratio acquired by the mixing acquisition unit. The region estimation unit estimates a combustion region of the post combustion in the combustion chamber based on the mixing ratio. The timing estimation unit estimates an ignition timing at which ignition occurs in the combustion chamber by the post injection based on the mixing ratio.

The mixing ratio estimation unit estimates the mixing ratio of each of plural types of molecular structures included in the fuel. The lubrication index calculation unit calculates a lubrication index, representing the lubricity of an outer peripheral portion S1 of the piston of a fuel pump and an outer peripheral portion of the valve body of a fuel injection valve by the fuel, based on the mixing ratio estimated by the mixing ratio estimation unit.

A model predictive control (MPC) module: identifies sets of possible target values based on the torque request, each of the sets of possible target values including target effective throttle area percentage; determines predicted operating parameters for the sets of possible target values, respectively; determines cost values for the sets of possible target values, respectively; selects one of the sets of possible target values based on the cost values; and sets target values based on the possible target values of the selected one of the sets, respectively, the target values including a target pressure ratio across the throttle valve. A target area module determines a target opening area of the throttle valve based on the target effective throttle area percentage ratio. A throttle actuator module controls the throttle valve based on the target opening.

摘要: A secondary fuel injection system determines (precisely) a maximum amount of secondary fuel that can be injected into a cylinder during a cycle based upon the rotational speed (RPM) of the engine. A primary fuel injection pulse width of the prior cycle and is used to determine how much heat energy was requested by an engine control module based upon the duration of the injection pulse. Secondary fuel is injected into the intake port of the cylinder after the exhaust valve closes in an amount that is calculated based upon the maximum that can be injected during the allowed calculated time of crankshaft rotation and the amount of heat energy requested in the prior cycle and to include the amount of primary fuel that is then injected into the cylinder is being reduced based upon the amount of heat energy provided by the secondary fuel that was previously injected.

Degradation is detected based on an elevated knock incidence and increased spark retard usage. If the VCR mechanism is stuck, knock and pre-ignition that could be induced by continued operation in a higher than intended compression ratio is mitigated by limiting the engine load.

摘要: The control device controls an internal combustion engine comprising a fuel injector 31. The control device comprises an injection control part controlling fuel injection from the fuel injector. The injection control part controls the fuel injections so as to perform a plurality of pre-injections and a main injection and so that the pre-injected fuel is burned by compression self-ignition after the start of main injection. The injection control part controls the fuel injector so as to perform the pre-injections and main injection at basic injection timings during steady operation, and performs correction control so as to correct the injection timings from the basic injection timings during transient operation. In correction control, the larger a crank angle from TDC of the injection timings of the different injections before correction, the greater the amounts of correction of the injection timings of the injections.

摘要: Systems and methods for non-intrusive closed-loop control of internal combustion engines are provided. Systems of the non-intrusive closed-loop control of internal combustion engines include a plurality of engine operating condition sensors, an electronic control unit with a Gaussian process model, and a look-up table. The electronic control unit estimates an MFB50 of the internal combustion engine using the Gaussian process model and with engine operating condition data as input. A desired MFB50 is obtained from the look-up table and a command of a control parameter to a fuel injector for the internal combustion engine is executed by the electronic control unit and as a function of the comparison of the estimated MFB50 and the desired MFB50.
