摘要: The present disclosure provides processes for producing toners by emulsion aggregation where the resulting toner particles have high pigment loadings and desired circularity. The methods include adding a metal, in embodiments a metal salt, at the beginning of coalescence, which surprisingly speeds the coalescence process and produces toner particles having a desired size and circularity for use in electrophotographic imaging systems.

摘要: A method of making a sacrificial coating composition is disclosed. The method comprises emulsifying an oil with surfactant to form an oil-in-water emulsion; and combining ingredients comprising (i) at least one polymer, (ii) at least one hygroscopic material, (iii) the oil-in water emulsion and (iv) water to produce the sacrificial coating composition. The at least one polymer is selected from the group consisting of a hydrophilic polymer, a latex comprising polymer particles dispersed in a continuous liquid phase, or mixtures thereof.

摘要: Methods for powder coating that include applying a powder coating composition to a substrate via an electrostatic gun. The powder coating composition includes a mixture of two or more materials having different densities, such as a mixture of aerogel particles and fluoropolymer-containing particles. The electrostatic gun can have a high-voltage generator that generates a negative polarity voltage between about 0 KV and about 100 KV during application of the powder coating composition, and the electrostatic gun can have a round spray nozzle. Methods of making fuser members using such powder coating methods, fuser members prepared by such methods, and methods of preparing low gloss images using such fuser members.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a method for manufacturing a fluorinated structured organic film (FSOF) composition for a photoreceptor. The method includes combining a fluorinated diol, an electroactive segment and a solvent in a round bottom reactor. The reacted is heated, without mixing dissolve the fluorinated diol composition. The dissolved fluorinated diol composition is mixed to dissolve the electroactive segment while maintaining the reactor at a temperature of between 80 and 85° C. A catalyst and a leveling agent are added to the solution to initiate a pre-cure reaction. The pre-cure reaction proceeds for at least 2 hours at a temperature of between 80 and 85° C. The solution is cooled to room temperature and filtered.
