    摘要： A data processing device which, in MPEC processing using a processor and a cache device connected to the processor, can accomplish fast and efficient processing by effectively utilizing the cache device is provided. The data processing device is provided with a main memory for storing data, a central processing unit (CPU) for accessing the main memory to execute MPEG encoding or decoding of data in accordance with an operation program, and a cache device connected to the CPU to store part of the data to be processed by the CPU, wherein the cache device has a first cache area for storing picture data decoded in the past and a second cache area for storing header information and DCT coefficients, and the CPU, in accessing the cache device, selects either of the first and second cache areas in accordance with relevant provisions in the operation program.

    摘要： A radio line is easily influenced in its nature by attenuation or reflection of an electromagnetic wave or the like and the surrounding environment. Due to this fact, a variation of the data transfer speed frequently occurs at the time of image streaming so as to become a hindrance to reproduction of an image at the receiving terminal. A distribution server is provided with a multiplexer for multiplexing information indicating the transmission start time for the image data and a switching unit for switching an image bit rate in response to a request from the receiving terminal. The receiving terminal uses information indicating a transmission start time for the image data, monitors the receiving bit rate and sends out a request for transmission of the most-suitable image bit rate in response to a comparison thereof.

    摘要： An oscillator circuit includes a clock oscillator which outputs a main clock signal having an oscillating frequency switched between a high frequency and a low frequency in response to a frequency selection signal, and a frequency divider circuit which outputs a sub-clock signal having a divided frequency equivalent to a frequency division ratio of the oscillating frequency of the main clock signal, the frequency division ratio being switched in response to the frequency selection signal. The divided frequency of the sub-clock signal is predetermined for each of the high frequency and the low frequency to which the oscillating frequency is switched in response to the frequency selection signal.

    摘要： Adopted is a decoder, in which on condition that a prediction block shown by vector information extracted from a data stream, and a decode-target block have an overlap where respective pixels overlay each other, pixel information of an already-decoded portion at a distance of an integer multiple of a vector provided by the vector information from the overlap is made a prediction signal instead of the overlap, and the prediction signal is added to difference image data taken from the data stream to generate reproduction image data. The decoder is adopted for an intra-frame decoder, a local decoder of an encoder, and the like. According to a fundamental rule concerning a repetitive pattern of an image, a pixel at a distance of an integer multiple is a like pixel, and therefore the process of decoding can be performed efficiently.
