    摘要： A scanning optical system deflects a light beam by a reflection surface of a polygon mirror toward an object surface through an image forming optical system so that the light beam scans on the object surface to form an image thereon. A light shielding member is disposed between the polygon mirror and the image forming optical system. The shielding member is an opaque plate disposed perpendicular to the optical axis of the image forming optical system. The light shielding member prevents a ghost light that is reflected by another reflection surface of the polygon mirror located adjacent to the reflection surface deflecting the light beam from entering the image forming optical system and impinging onto the object surface.

    摘要： A multi-beam scanning device includes a light source for emitting a plurality of laser beams, a polygon mirror for deflecting the laser beams so that the laser beams scan across an object surface in a main scanning direction, an fθ lens disposed between the polygon mirror and the object surface, and a cylindrical lens that converges each laser beam in a vicinity of the polygon mirror in the auxiliary direction. A mirror is disposed between the light source and the cylindrical lens which deflects the laser beams in the auxiliary scanning direction. The mirror is rotatably supported by a mirror holder such that the traveling direction of the laser beams deflected by the mirror can be adjusted.

    摘要： A computer has a conversion module for converting a password to be registered into a compressed-bit row in accordance with a predetermined rule. A registration module stores the compressed bit row of the registered password in a backup RAM. A conversion module converts a password to be compared with the registered password into a compressed bit row. A comparison module compares the compressed bit row of the compared password with the compressed bit row of the registered password. Upon detecting a coincidence between the two compressed bit rows, a system activation module is activated to set the system to a access allowable state.
