    摘要： A pacifier and teething toy assembly includes a shield and a pacifier removably and reversibly coupled to the shield. The shield includes a collar and a first channel for receiving a ridge of a base plate of the pacifier. The shield further includes at least one opening through the shield and a second channel in communication with the at least one opening. The pacifier includes a nipple that is manipulatable or foldable between an extending use position and a collapsed storage position. In the storage position, an exposed portion of the nipple is received in a cavity in the shield to protect the nipple from external contaminants. The pacifier also includes at least one opening and a channel in communication with the at least one opening. The openings and channels of the shield and pacifier cooperate to define an air path through the assembly.

    摘要： An aroma emitting pacifier for an infant gives off a predetermined scent by evaporation of volatile essential oils or similar substances. The aroma may be, for example, mint, menthol or eucalyptus, which may help relieve nasal congestion. The aroma emitting pacifier is constructed to prevent evaporation of the essential oil before activation, so that the nipple does not become contaminated with a flavor the infant may find unpalatable, and so that the oil is conserved until it is desired to administer it to the infant.
