摘要: A feeding device includes a fluid reservoir and a nipple configured to be attached to the fluid reservoir. The nipple includes a base portion and a teat portion, where the base portion and the teat portion together define an interior space of the nipple. The nipple also includes a removable flow valve configured to be positioned within the interior space of the nipple and an internal cavity between the removable flow valve and a wall of the nipple. The removable flow valve includes a central opening and at least one valve protrusion extending from a surface of the flow valve into the internal cavity. The smart bottle includes a bottle for containing liquid and a base that is disposed under the bottle and includes an elastic body that is elastically deformed by the weight of the bottle and the base, a weight measurement sensor disposed above the elastic body and measuring the weight of the bottle by measuring a pressure that the elastic body transfers in a vertical direction from the ground as a reaction to gravity, and a controller that measures the amount of fed milk based on the change in the weight measured by the weight measurement sensor.

摘要: The present invention relates to a system device and method for monitoring infant oral motor kinetics (OMK), which can be used to assess the functional significance of the different sucking components, i.e., the plasticity of infant sucking skills in relation to their oral feeding performance, at a particular time, during the developmental period and/or during preventive or therapeutic intervention programs. It is a unique system and apparatus that provides a means to study the nonnutritive and/or nutritive sucking skills, i.e., the Suction and/or Expression components of sucking, of infants in the natural setting, i.e., during a normal feeding session. OMK sensors, tracked in real-time by the monitoring system, include miniature pressure transducers, or pressure sensitive pads, attached to the nipple for measuring intraoral pressure pulses during Suction, and for measuring compression/stripping pressure pulses during Expression; and a miniature flow sensor for measuring fluid flow rate, which can be integrated over time to determine the volume of milk removed (bolus) per suck. Other signals, such as respiration, swallowing, thermal, optical, and acoustic signals can be recorded and compared along with the instrumented-nipple signals, in an OMK monitoring system.

摘要: An apparatus and method for containing bacteria in an infant bottle that prevents unswallowed formula from returning to the unused formula in the bottle. The apparatus includes a plurality of one-way valves positioned across a containment chamber and all located between the bottle opening and the nipple. The plurality of one-way valves allows uncontaminated formula to flow out of the bottle portion during suction on the nipple. However, once suction is removed and if formula that has come into contact with the infant makes its way back into the nipple, the plurality of one-way valves close blocking the return path to the bottle portion. Should any contaminated formula makes its way through one of the one-way valves, the contaminated fluid is then trapped within the containment chamber and the remaining one-way valve is closed when suction is removed. Gaskets in and beneath the containment chamber form further sealing means.

摘要: The present invention relates to a bottle comprising: a lower section, a container for enclosing and holding a first substance, the container being located inside the bottle, a lid for closing the container, an upper section connected to the lower section and for holding a second substance above the lid, a seal located between the lid and the container to assure that the second substance contained in the upper section does not mix with the first substance of the container (9), and a push-release system to displace the lid to permit mixing of the first and second substances. The push-release system includes the container movably mounted in the bottle between a first position where the container does not act on the lid and a second position in which the entire container is displaced to displace the lid to permit mixing of the first and second substances.

摘要: A drinking container is provided that can include a lid member and a cup member. The lid member can include a base member and a spout extending up from the base member. The spout can provide a fluid passageway from outside the drinking container to the volume of the cup member so that a child may drink liquid contained within the cup member. When the lid member is removably coupled to the cup member, two or more seals are created around the circumference of the drinking container between the lid member and the cup member to decrease the likelihood of leakage from between the cup member and the lid member when the lid is coupled to the cup member.
