Equipment for carrying out cardiac autonomic neuropathy tests includes a base unit to which a mouthpiece is connected, forming an autonomous system for measuring the pressure and/or the pattern of breath, provided with a series of LEDs aimed at informing a patient, who is undergoing the test, about correctness or incorrectness of a test execution. The mouthpiece is provided with a flow sensor, aimed at measuring a patient's pattern of breath, and a pressure sensor. The mouthpiece includes also an atmospheric pressure sensor aimed at measuring the environmental pressure. The equipment includes also a sensor, aimed at measuring the heartbeat, applied by simple contact to the patient's wrist area, and an orthostatic measuring device aimed at measuring any change of the patient's position. Data can be introduced or analysed and the type of exam to do can be selected. Results of the tests can be stored in a memory.
摘要:
A Home Sleep Testing (HST) device for the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and snoring. The Device has an orally mounted microprocessor and sensor set configured to measure a user's movement, sleep pattern and snoring.
摘要:
A sleep apnea treatment/anti-snoring device optionally having controlled positive air-flow using a micro-blower to maintain an individual's upper airway unobstructed (pharynx area). Optionally the device includes a lower jaw mandibular advancement component. The device has built-in sensors, microprocessor and other items required for data acquisition and transfer.

An apparatus for evaluating the tongue strength and coordination of a subject includes an intermediate device such as a lever which is pivotably attached to a coupling device and extends into a cavity of a nipple element. The lever is detached from the nipple and pivotable in response to deformation of the nipple element by a tongue force exerted on the nipple element by a subject during a suck-swallow-breathe sequence. The coupling device includes a sensing device to wirelessly transmit sensor outputs to a mobile device paired to the sensing device. The sensing device includes at least one sealed chamber defined by a membrane and a sensor. In one example, a first membrane and sensor senses pressure change in a fluid in the apparatus, and a second membrane and sensor is actuated by the intermediate device to sense deformation of the nipple element. A method using the apparatus is provided.

The present invention relates to a therapeutic system and methods of using the therapeutic system. In particular, the present invention relates to systems having hardware, software, and appliance components for assessing and entraining a neuromuscular pattern or behavior in a patient. The methods include configuring the hardware and software systems to receive data from an orofacial stimulation appliance and to generate a precise therapeutic pulse profile that is actuated as a tactile stimulus. In one embodiment, the system and methods also include collecting data using the orofacial stimulation appliance and delivering the tactile stimulus via the orofacial stimulation appliance to entrain an organized neuromuscular pattern or behavior.

Method and apparatus are provided for generating an index associated with non-nutritive suck pattern stability. An example apparatus can include an STI generator configured to generate a plurality of non-nutritive suck (NNS) pressure samples using a non-nutritive pacifier and a pressure transducer, and to sum a plurality of standard deviations based on the plurality of NNS pressure samples to provide a spatiotemporal index (STI) of non-nutritive suck pattern stability, wherein the STI is configured to provide a composite indication of variability of amplitude, and duration of a plurality of portions of the NNS pressure samples.

The present subject matter is suited for evaluating biomechanics and electrophysiology of an infant's orofacial system during sucking. The present subject matter includes at least one orofacial sensor and a processor. In various examples, the present subject matter additionally includes one or a combination of: a pacifier having a baglet, a receiver assembly, a stimulation device, a memory, a display, and data acquisition and analysis software. Advantageously, the present subject may non-invasively sample and analyze suck and may stimulate nerve endings in the face of an infant.
