Abstract:
A method for applying a barrier to structures to prevent the infiltration of pest species (unwanted organisms) uses a (e.g., coating) composition formed from a polyurethane (e.g., film-forming) polymer system and a pellet comprising a pesticide incorporated into a sorbent and dispersed in the polyurethane polymer system. The composition protects the structure by application either to the structure or to a pathway that leads to the structure. Advantageous polymer systems include polyurethanes rich in urea linkages and predominating in aliphatic and alicyclic backbones.
Abstract:
Compositions and methods are provided for forming a coated wood product having the appearance and texture of wood grain, which conceals joints on the wood surface and which is capable of accepting conventional wood stain.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the field of chemistry and relates to a coating for wood materials, which serves as a basis for subsequent coatings. The object of the present invention is to disclose a coating, with the aid of which the conductivity of the wood materials is improved. The object is attained by a coating, in which the outer and/or inner surface of a wood material is provided with polyelectrolytes which were dissolved or are or were dispersed in water and/or an organic solvent at least up to processing, with a largely uniform distribution and wherein at least 10 g polyelectrolyte is present per square meter. The object is further attained through a method in which an aqueous solution and/or dispersion of polyelectrolytes is applied on the outer and/or inner surface of wood materials, wherein at least 10 g cationized polyelectrolyte solid is applied per square meter coated outer and/or inner surface of the wood material.

Abstract:
A free-radical curable polish composition is described. The composition can be applied and cured as an ultra thin film on finished surfaces to provide enhanced chemical and mar resistance. The composition comprises an aqueous emulsion including an olefin-functional polymer or an olefin-functional prepolymer, and a silicone or silicone copolymer preferably with photoinitiators for UV and EB cure. The polish/emulsion can be applied, for example, to wet the surface of nitrocellulose lacquer wood finishes. The polish wet surface is first wiped to remove excess polish and thereafter exposed to UV radiation to provide a thin, polymerized protective film.

A free-radical polish composition is described. The composition can be applied and cured as an ultra thin film on finished surfaces to provide enhanced chemical and mar resistance. The composition comprises an aqueous emulsion including an olefin-functional polymer having low glass transition temperature or an olefin-functional prepolymer, and a silicone or silicone copolymer preferably with photoinitiators for UV and EB cure. The polish/emulsion can be applied, for example, to wet the surface of nitrocellulose lacquer wood finishes. The polish wet surface is first wiped to remove excess polish and thereafter exposed to UV radiation to provide a thin, polymerized permanent protective film on the polished surface.
