Abstract:
A formed article having a polygonal tube shape is produced by performing polygonal tube deep drawing on a blank made of a steel sheet, the formed article including a bottom surface part having a polygonal shape, a side wall including a straight side part continuous with a side of the bottom surface part and a vertical ridge connecting ends, in the right-left direction, of adjacent straight side parts, and a flange continuous with the side wall. A side of a flange region to become the flange in the blank includes a notch, and the notch is formed on the side of a part of the flange region, the part being continuous with a region at a position closer to the vertical ridge than a position of a central part in the right-left direction in the straight side part.
Abstract:
A stretch flange crack prediction method of predicting initiation of stretch flange cracks that occurs in a flange end section during stretch flange forming of a deformable sheet, includes: a measurement value acquisition process of acquiring, for each of a plurality of sheet-shaped test pieces, a fracture strain measurement value, a normal strain gradient measurement value, and a circumferential strain gradient measurement value; a CAE analysis process of acquiring a maximum major strain maximum element having a highest maximum major strain, a normal strain gradient of the maximum major strain maximum element, and a circumferential strain gradient of the maximum major strain maximum element; a fracture determination threshold acquisition process of acquiring a fracture determination threshold by converting the fracture strain measurement value; and a prediction process of predicting that stretch flange cracks will be initiated, when the maximum major strain is equal to or higher than the fracture determination threshold.
Abstract:
A method for painting a complex or compound curved three-dimensional surface of a portion of an article. The method comprises providing a paint film; providing sheet metal having opposite major surfaces; laminating the paint film onto a major surface of the sheet metal to form a painted sheet metal laminate comprising a first portion and a second portion; permanently deforming the first portion of the painted sheet metal laminate into a formed portion of the article having a complex or compound curved three-dimensional shape; applying an initial force for securing the second portion of the painted sheet metal laminate during an initial stage of said permanently deforming step; and applying a later force for securing the second portion of the painted sheet metal laminate during a later stage of said permanently deforming step. The later applied force is greater than the initially applied force.
Abstract:
End-group components for superconducting accelerator cavity used in acceleration of charged particles are manufactured by subjecting pure niobium sheet materials to press forming composed mainly of flat-bottomed cylindrical drawing, preferably by simultaneously conducting control of slide velocity and/or its motion and control of tool die temperature and/or its distribution/gradient in the above press forming, further preferably by dynamically controlling blank holding force in accordance with the variation of flange area, flange thickness and deformed characteristics of niobium sheet materials during the press forming, more preferably by preparing an anisotropically shaped blank instead of a circular blank by use of servo press forming machine, servo-die cushion temperature control equipment, water-soluble solid coating type lubricant, and a tooling die.
Abstract:
In at least one embodiment, a metal blank is provided including a metal sheet having a surface including at least one pair of channels defined therein. Each channel may have a first portion extending from an edge of the blank and a second portion in an interior of the blank. The second portion may be wider than the first portion. The blank may include at least one pair of thermocouple wires, with one wire being attached to each second portion. An adhesive material may be disposed in each second portion. The wires may be attached by welding and the adhesive material may be a metallic composite adhesive. The disclosed blank may be used to calibrate or otherwise assess a process where the blank is being heated or cooled, such as aluminum hot-stamping.
Abstract:
A product is produced from a rolled strip material with the steps: providing a substrate in form of a strip material from sheet steel, rolling of the substrate in form of strip material, electrolytic coating of the substrate with a first metal coating material, wherein the electrolytic coating is carried out after the rolling, applying of a second coating material as a scaling protection coating on the substrate coated with the first coating material, and hot-forming of the substrate, wherein the hot-forming is carried out after the application of the second coating material.
Abstract:
A cold drawing process for forming titanium blanks into titanium pieces in which the titanium blank is pre-treated with a wet lubricant prior to drawing. The wet lubricant lubricates the interfaces of the titanium blank and the punch to substantially reduce galling and hardening of the surface of the titanium blank from the drawing process, thereby eliminating the need to anneal the formed titanium pieces prior to additional drawing, stamping, punching or other forming processes.
Abstract:
A method of DI forming a laminated metal sheet includes drawing a laminated metal sheet; and redrawing and ironing the drawn laminated metal sheet, wherein a water-based coolant including (a) at least one base selected from the group consisting of alkanolamines and alkali metal hydroxides, (b) a fatty acid, and (c) water is used in the redrawing and ironing, and wherein a total content of the base (a) and the fatty acid (b) is 0.02 to 4% by mass and a ratio of a straight-chain fatty acid having a carbon number of 6 to 12 in the fatty acid (b) is 80 to 100% by mass.
Abstract:
An ironing apparatus includes an ironing die and an ironing punch, an injection port for injecting gas or liquid to the metal plate at a high pressure to remove substance adhered to the metal plate therefrom, a suction port for sucking the adhered substance removed from the metal plate, and a protrusion mount portion with a protrusion for preventing dispersion of the gas or the liquid. An ironing method for ironing the metal plate having the single surface or both surfaces coated with the organic resin film includes the steps of injecting the gas or the liquid from the injection port to the metal plate at the high pressure to remove the adhered substance from the metal plate, and sucking and collecting the adhered substance removed from the metal plate from the suction port. The adhered substance such as the hair may be removed by the aforementioned invention.
