摘要： A method uses retrofitably-attachable pre-formed shell to cover exposed areas of existing stamped/formed chrome or painted truck bumpers, providing a unique re-useable decorative/protective plastic shell cover, the edges of which are tucked under the existing trim pieces of the bumper as a main attachment mechanism. The formed shells can be used to cover existing minor damage on the bumper. Light-passing images can be incorporated on the bumper shells, and backlit without changes to the bumper or deviation from the original surface profile of the bumper. Methods of forming the shells include vacuum forming, and include forming a raised perimeter guide, allowing the molded parts to be trimmed using a rotary cutting tool that follows the perimeter guide, thus reducing capital investment and tooling costs.

The device includes a chamber having a top wall, a bottom wall, a first side wall, a second side wall, a front wall and a rear wall. The first and second side walls are coupled to and extend between the top and bottom walls and the front and rear walls. The chamber is configured for attaching to a vehicle bumper. An inflatable bladder is positioned in the chamber. A compression assembly is positioned within the bladder and is configured to absorb shock upon impact of the chamber.

Each stem is telescopically engaged in one end of the horizontal base member. The cab guard also comprises a pair of J-shaped hooks extending through the anchor plates and having means for attachment to the stake pockets of a pickup truck box for retaining the anchor plates to the sides of the pickup truck box. The universal cab guard is mountable to the front stake pockets of a pickup truck box and is adjustable to match the width between the stake pockets.
