摘要: A water impervious, elastomeric coating is applied to the outer surface of a foundation wall and across the joint between the lower end of the wall and the footing. Protection board is bonded to the elastomeric coating and serves to prevent damage to the coating during backfilling of the foundation wall. The protection board is composed of an impact resistant, extruded, thermoplastic material and has inner and outer faces connected together by a series of parallel spaced ribs which define vertical channels that extend the height of the board. A plurality of spaced isolated holes are formed in the outer face of the board and communicate with the channels. The board not only protects the elastomeric coating from damage, but the inner face provides an additional waterproofing membrane, and the holes and channels facilitate movement of water to the drain tile and relieve hydrostatic pressure on the wall.

摘要: Footer products, and footers made with such products. Such product includes an insulating member between its upper and lower surfaces. The upper surface receives a load. The interior transfers the load from the upper surface to the lower surface, and distributes the load laterally and longitudinally such that the load received at the lower surface is within the load-bearing capacity of underlying soil. The product provides a thermal shock barrier between underlying soil and the interior of the building. The insulating member can comprise the entirety of the product, or can be combined with top and/or bottom load distributing layers, or can be combined with intercostals which extend top-to-bottom through the foam. Such footers are useful in constructing structures which use footers to spread the overlying load onto a greater surface area of the underlying soil than the cross-section area of the structure which presents the load to the footer.

摘要: Structural panels (12) of extruded PVC and of stretched Z-shaped configuration and which can be driven into the ground include strengthening ribs (36-40) extending from the inner surfaces (34 and 35) of the opposed side sections (26 and 27). The ribs extend at a right angle to the side section bending planes (56 and 57) and at a right angle to the panel bending plane (64), thereby adding significant resistance to both compression and tension forces applied to the panel. The structural panels are driven into the earth to form a wall barrier, with the female locking element (43) being telescopically moved along the male locking element (42) of a previously installed panel. Distal strengthening rib (40) functions as a driving tongue to stabilize the position of the male locking element (42) during driving of the panel into the ground.

摘要: A coupling between lead and extension pile segments of a driven piling. The extension segment has a formed end, an opposite driven end and a body extending therebetween. The formed end has an inner diameter equal to an outer diameter of an exposed end of the lead segment and greater than an outer diameter of the extension segment's body. The formed end has an initial length prior to coupling the extension and lead segments; the formed end undergoes secondary end forming when a driving force is applied, such that the formed end has a final length exceeding the initial length after the extension and lead segments are coupled. In some embodiments, the extension segment has an external ring portion positioned upstream of the formed end, and the exposed end of the lead segment is cold extruded into and through the external ring portion of the extension segment.

摘要: An extruded containment barrier panel (5) for use in forming a containment barrier wall about a waste material storage or disposal site is disclosed. The containment barrier panel has an elongate body panel (10) with a top end (11), a spaced bottom end (12), and a first side edge (14) and a spaced parallel second side edge (15) extending from the top end to the bottom end of the body panel. A C-shaped female connecting member (17) is formed along the first side edge of the body panel, and a complimentary male connecting member (22) is formed along the second side edge of the body panel, both of which extend the length of the body panel. The male connecting member is sized and shaped to be slidably received within a second one of the female connecting members for forming an interlocked edge-standing relationship with a second one of the barrier panels, and both of the male and female connecting members may be rotated with respect to one another when one of the containment barrier panels is being joined to a second adjacent one of he containment barrier panels to form a containment barrier wall. The male connecting member has least two elongate seal members (32, 33, 34) extending the length thereof, and constructed and arranged to be placed into sealing engagement with the female connecting member of the second barrier panel such that a fluid-tight seal will be formed between adjacent ones of the barrier panels for preventing the migration of groundwater and/or underground gases from out or into the waste material storage or burial site.

摘要: An extruded sheet piling (20) is disclosed. The sheet piling has a planar body panel (22) with a top end (23) and a spaced bottom end (24). A first continuous side edge (26) and a second spaced parallel continuous side edge (27) extend between the top end and the bottom end of the body panel, respectively. A first planar flat (29) extends away from the first side edge of the body panel, and has an elongate continuous male locking member (31) formed along an outside edge (30) thereof A second spaced parallel flat (34) extends away from the second side edge of the body panel, and has a female locking member (36) extending the length of an outside edge (35) and which is sized and shaped to snugly receive the male locking member of an adjacent sheet piling therein. An elongate structural reinforcing rib (42) is extruded as a part of the sheet piling along the outside edge of the first flat, and is spaced from and parallel to the male locking member.

摘要: A multilayered coextruded geomembrane system utilized in a variety of applications including, but not limited to, landfills for the disposal of wastes, surface impoundments or ponds, heap leach pads for mining or methane barriers for building and floating covers reservoirs. The geomembrane consists of three or more polymeric layers with outside layers consisting of high density polyethylene at least 0.930 g/cm.sup.3 and a very low density polyethylene inner core layer less than or equal to 0.920 g/cm.sup.3. The melt index of the very low and high density polyethylene is less than 2.0 and 1.0, respectively. Each outside layer of high density polyethylene is 10 to 40% of the total geomembrane thickness. The very low density polyethylene inner core layer is 20 to 80% of the total geomembrane thickness.
