Abstract: A latch assembly connected to the drive unit of a bi-fold door for retaining the bi-fold door secure to a building has elongated straps attached to rotatable latch drums mounted on the outer ends of the drive shaft of the drive unit. Lift drums powered by a motor driven gearbox raise and lower the bi-fold door. Latch assemblies having springs attached to the straps maintain tension on the straps during the opening and closing of the bi-fold door.

Abstract: A latch assembly connected to the drive unit of a bi-fold door retains the bi-fold door in engagement with upright columns of a building with elongated straps attached to the upright columns and rotatable latch drums mounted on a drive shaft of a drive unit. Lift devices powered by the drive unit raise and lower the bi-fold door. Latch assemblies include springs that maintain tension on the straps during the opening and closing of the bi-fold door.

The opener positions the door in an open position and a closed position. A lock is coupled to the rail. The lock is in communication with the opener. The lock is automatically positioned in a locked position after the opener positions the door in a closed position. Thus, the door is retained in the closed position.

Abstract: An automated door closure system regulate the release and closure of a door in a door assembly that includes a primary door, a secondary door, and a door frame. The system includes a door closer, a control unit, and an automatic input sensor. The door closer, which is connected between the secondary door and the door frame and includes a cylinder and an operating rod, biases the secondary door toward a closed position. The control unit includes a motive device and a rod catch element. The rod catch element, which may be moved by the motor, is positioned in proximity to the operating rod to adjustably prevent the secondary door from being closed. The automatic input sensor detects a door assembly use condition. The control unit controls the motive device based on the detected condition to move the rod catch element, allowing the door closer to close the secondary door.

Abstract: A belt tensioning motor mount comprises a support plate; a motor mount holding a motor, the motor mount slidably attached to the support plate; and a tension adjustor disposed on the support plate, the tension adjustor for adjusting the position of the motor mount along the support plate. In an embodiment, the motor mount includes an opening that accommodates a shaft of the motor, a driver pulley attached to the shaft. A belt is attached to the driver pulley on one side and a return pulley on an opposite side. The support plate is disposed adjacent a wall and above the belt which operates a plurality of sliding doors. In an embodiment, the tension adjustor includes a threaded bolt which, depending on which way turned, either causes the motor mount to slide in a first direction to increase belt tension or slide in a second direction to decrease belt tension.

Abstract: A system for operating an electric door release having an actuator powered by an energy harvester. The actuator may be a piezoelectric actuator and the harvester may be a piezo harvester. The system may further include a power module, a rechargeable battery and a voltage boost circuit disposed between the energy harvester and the actuator. When a piezoelectric actuator is used, a recycle actuator discharge circuit may be disposed between the piezoelectric actuator and the power module battery for recapturing a portion of the energy delivered to the piezoelectric actuator. The piezoelectric harvester may include an energy input portion whereby the piezo electric harvester is excited by the energy input portion. The energy input portion may include a circular or linear driving gear for exciting the piezoelectric harvester or a stepper motor generator, driven by movement of a door. The harvester may also be a stepper motor/generator.

Abstract: A door opening and closing apparatus includes a lock mechanism having an engaging member that engages with a lock member provided in a door when the door is in a fully closed state, and a link mechanism that has three link members, is configured to be able to undergo deformation into a linear state and a bent state, and restricts rotation of the engaging member by being brought into the linear state. A central link member among the three link members has a first face and a second face that are pressed by a projecting shaft. The link mechanism changes to the bent state when the first face is pressed, and changes to the linear state when the second face is pressed. The first face and the second face are provided so as to have a positional relationship in which the first face and the second face intersect each other.
