    Abstract: An adjustable camshaft for an internal combustion engine may have a support shaft that extends along a rotational axis; a cam pack having a cam element that is received on the support shaft such that the cam pack can be displaced along the rotational axis, wherein the cam pack can be latched on the support shaft in at least two axial latching positions; a latching element that is prestressed by way of a spring element; and a latching element receptacle disposed on the support shaft. The latching element can latch into the latching element receptacle in the latching positions. The spring element and the latching element may be received in the cam pack.

    Abstract: A timing pin module for an engine is disclosed herein. The timing pin module includes a mount end, an engagement end, an adapter, a pin, and a resilient member. The adapter, with a through hole is disposed on the mount end and is mountable to the housing cover. The pin has a longitudinal axis, a first end disposed on the engagement end, and a second end disposed on the mount end. The pin is slideably disposed in the through hole of the adapter and moves between an extended position and a retracted position. The resilient member has a first end engaged with the pin and a second end engaged with the adapter. Further, the first end of the pin engageably retains the flywheel in the top dead center position while extended, and makes sliding contact with a portion of the flywheel that is in the retracted position.

    Abstract: A camshaft phaser attachment system is provided for attaching a camshaft phaser to a camshaft of an internal combustion engine. The camshaft phaser attachment system includes a camshaft phaser for controllably varying the phase relationship between a crankshaft and the camshaft. The camshaft phaser attachment system also includes a camshaft phaser installation tool having a handle with a head sized to be inserted through an opening of a cover of the camshaft phaser. A plurality of notches formed on a rotor of the camshaft phaser interfit with a plurality of tangs of the head. The head includes a recess on the periphery to provide clearance relative to a bias spring capture flange extending radially inward from the opening. The head also includes a central passage extending through the head to allow a tightening tool to tighten a bolt used to hold the camshaft phaser to the camshaft.

A valve timing control apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes a timing pulley to which a rotational force is transmitted from a crankshaft via a timing belt, a housing configured to be rotated by the timing pulley and including a plurality of shoes provided on an inner peripheral surface thereof, and a vane rotor relatively rotatably contained inside the housing and configured to be rotated in synchronization with a camshaft. The vane rotor includes a vane forming a retard angle oil chamber and an advance angle oil chamber inside the housing in cooperation with the plurality of shoes. A predetermined interval is provided between an outer peripheral portion of the housing and an inner peripheral portion of the timing pulley. An outer peripheral portion of a housing main body of the housing and the inner peripheral portion of the timing pulley are coupled with each other via a plurality of coupling beam portions with intervals in a circumferential direction. The housing main body, the timing pulley, and the plurality of coupling beam portions are integrally formed.
