Abstract:
A light scanning device includes a housing, a plurality of permeable members, a plurality of cleaning members, a plurality of cleaning holders, a linear member, and a driving unit. The plurality of permeable members close the respective plurality of the emission ports. The plurality of cleaning holders extend over the plurality of the permeable members adjacent to one another. The plurality of the cleaning holders each have a holding unit that holds at least the two cleaning members. The linear member is connected to the plurality of the cleaning holders. The driving unit causes the linear member to run circularly. The cleaning members each slide on the corresponding permeable member in association with the linear member running circularly. The cleaning holders each connected to the linear member at a center of the holding unit in an extending direction of the holding unit.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a first support member, an image carrying member configured to carry a toner image thereon, and an optical writing apparatus connected to the first support member and configured to form an electrostatic latent image on the image carrying member. The optical writing apparatus includes an optical system having at least one optical element, a first casing configured to support the optical system, and a second casing configured to encase the first casing and to prevent intrusion of dust to the optical system.
Abstract:
A printing apparatus for printing an image onto a recording medium based on input image data, comprises an electrostatic latent image carrier for forming an electrostatic latent image, and an exposure controller for forming the electrostatic latent image corresponding to one pixel upon exposure of the electrostatic latent image carrier with a combination of a plurality of different exposure amounts, wherein the exposure controller performs the exposure with the combination of the plurality of exposure amounts in a manner to satisfy a condition for an index value LNR expressed by a following general equation (1) using an optical density od (n) standardized on the condition of the maximum optical density equal to 1.0, identification information comb assigned to identify each combination of the plurality of exposure amounts, and the number of varieties m of a cumulative exposure amount used for modulation of the image data. LNR ≤ 2 / m LNR ( comb ) = ∑ n = 0 m - 3 [ { ( od ( n + 2 ) - od ( n + 1 ) ) - ( od ( n + 1 ) - od ( n ) ) } 2 ] / ( m - 2 ) . ( 1 )
Abstract:
In this exposure system, alignment marks on a photosensitive material are photographed with a reading unit. Prior to this photographing, a standard board, having detection marks at positions readable to the reading unit at preset intervals along the movement direction of the reading unit, is provided. At least one of the detection marks is photographed with the reading unit, which is arranged in a position to photograph the alignment marks provided on the photosensitive material. Calibration data is calculated based on data on the camera optical axis deviation obtained by this photographing. Standard position data reflects the calibration data, whereby calibration of the exposure position adjustment function of the exposure device is performed.

Abstract:
In an image forming apparatus, an image carrier is configured to rotate in a first direction. An image writer is adapted to irradiate the image carrier to form an electrostatic latent image thereon. A storage stores information regarding a factor disturbing the formation of the latent image in advance. A controller controls the irradiation of the image writer so as to eliminate the disturbing factor, based on the information stored in the storage.
Abstract:
A sheet conveyance device includes a sheet passage, a first sheet stacker, a second sheet stacker, and a sheet feeder. The first sheet stacker has a bottom and a lift. The sheet feeder includes an opening and a feed roller. The sheet conveyance device includes an assist plate supported to be movable between a first and a second position and an urging member. With the first sheet stacker mounted in an apparatus body, the assist plate moves from the first to the second position against the urging force of the urging member to allow passage of a sheet from the first sheet stacker to the sheet feeder. With the first sheet stacker removed from the apparatus body, the assist plate is urged by the urging member to move from the second to the first position to support the sheet conveyed from the second sheet stacker to the sheet feeder.
