Abstract:
It is presented a method executed in a transmission system, the transmission system comprising an AC grid, a DC grid and at least two AC/DC converters connected between the AC grid and DC grid. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining set points for each one of the at least two AC/DC converters, each set point comprising a magnitude and direction of power through the respective AC/DC converter during normal operation generating, based on the set points, a virtual AC grid, the virtual AC grid corresponding to AC behavior of the DC grid, as viewed from each AC side of the at least two AC/DC converters; and controlling the at least two AC/DC converters to mimic a behavior in accordance with the virtual AC grid. A corresponding transmission system is also presented.
Abstract:
A non-contact proximity switch having a first part and a second part which do not need to be in physical contact to detect proximity of the first and second parts. The first part is arranged to be connected to a reset circuit including an indicator light and a reset switch having a reset button. The first part includes a reset mechanism for machine safety, and the reset mechanism includes a signal generator and a signal detector. The reset mechanism is arranged to, upon indication that a reset is required, generate a signal so as to switch-on said indicator light, and the reset mechanism is further arranged to detect when the state of a connected reset switch corresponds to a state where the reset button is being pressed.

An electrical insulation system for a high voltage inductive device includes a cylindrical insulation barrier defining an axial direction, a longitudinal bar having a main extension in the axial direction, the longitudinal bar arranged to support the cylindrical insulation barrier along the axial direction and to provide spacing in a radial direction, and the longitudinal bar having a first side facing the cylindrical insulation barrier and a second side, opposite the first side, having a groove, and a spacer having a main extension in the radial direction, the spacer being arranged to provide spacing in the axial direction, the spacer having a groove fitting end portion. The longitudinal bar is adapted to receive the groove fitting end portion of the spacer in the groove, and wherein the spacer is dimensioned so relative to the groove that the groove captures any streamer propagating from the spacer towards the cylindrical insulation barrier.

A method and computer program product are provided for selecting switching cells for voltage contribution in a phase arm of a multilevel converter, a cell selecting control device for a multilevel converter and a multilevel converter. The cell selecting control device and multilevel converter includes a balancing control element that obtains a reference voltage for the phase arm, obtains a measurement of the current running through the phase arm and selects cells for contributing to an AC voltage output from the multilevel converter based on the reference voltage and the magnitude of the phase arm current.

A device for indicating the state of an electrical switching apparatus includes a movable contact arranged movable between a first and a second position. The device includes at least one protruding contact element arranged on the movable contact, at least one contact pin arranged in the close vicinity to the movable contact such that said contact element abuts the contact pin when the movable contact is in the first position and said contact element is at a distance from the contact pin when the movable contact is in the second position. The contact element and the contact pin form an electrical switch and a detector arrangement configured to detect when said electrical switch is closed and by that detect when the movable contact is in the first position.

It is provided a system for localizing a sound source and a method therefor. The system includes a movable unit, being adapted for free movement and being integrated with a microphone; a motion tracking unit; and a processing unit, being adapted for receiving microphone signal and motion tracking unit signal and obtaining information on a direction from which sound from the sound source arrives using the microphone signal and motion tracking unit signal obtained during movement of the movable unit. By having the system and the method therefor, it is helpful for solving at least one of the technical problems: the complexity and a large volume of an acoustic camera for localization of a sound source; the restriction of the movement of the microphone in a sound source localization system.

A method for controlling circuitry of a softstarter arrangement to operate an electric motor for driving a pump is provided, wherein the softstarter circuitry electrically connects the motor to electric mains. The method includes: (i) controlling the circuitry of the softstarter arrangement to accelerate the motor up to full speed in a forward direction; (ii) controlling the circuitry of the softstarter arrangement to decelerate the motor when the motor has run at full speed in the forward direction for a first period of time; (iii) controlling the circuitry of the softstarter arrangement to accelerate the motor up a specified speed in a reverse direction; (iv) controlling the circuitry of the softstarter arrangement to decelerate the motor when the motor has run at the specified speed in the reverse direction for a second period of time; and (v) repeating the steps (i)-(iv) one or more times.

A method for heat treatment of an electric power cable, the electric power cable including a polymer-based electrical insulation system with a polymer composition. The method steps include placing the electric power cable having the polymer-based electrical insulation system into a heating chamber and exposing the polymer-based electrical insulation system to a heat treatment procedure when the electric power cable is located in the heating chamber. The step of placing the electric power cable into the heating chamber includes winding the electric power cable about a substantially vertical center axis to form a substantially horizontal first layer of a plurality of substantially horizontal turns of the electric power cable, winding the electric power cable about the center axis to form a plurality of substantially horizontal second layers, each second layer being formed by a plurality of substantially horizontal turns of the electric power cable and stacking the plurality of horizontal second layers above the first layer. An apparatus is provided for performing the method.

A method in the manufacturing of an insulated electric high voltage DC termination or joint includes the steps of providing an insulated electric high voltage DC cable including an inner conductor; a polymer based insulation system, the polymer based insulation system comprising an insulation layer and a semiconducting layer; and an outer grounding layer; removing the grounding layer and the semiconducting layer in at least one end portion of the high voltage DC cable, thereby exposing the insulation layer in the at least one end portion of the high voltage DC cable; covering the insulation layer of the polymer based insulation system in the at least one end portion of the high voltage DC cable by a cover impermeable to at least one substance present in the insulation layer of the polymer based insulation system in the at least one end portion of the high voltage DC cable in a non-homogenous distribution; subjecting the insulation layer of the polymer based insulation system in the at least one end portion of the high voltage DC cable for a heat treatment procedure, while being covered by the cover, thereby equalizing the concentration of the at least one substance in the insulation layer of the polymer based insulation system in the at least one end portion of the high voltage DC cable; and removing the cover. Instead of using a temporary cover, which is later removed, as the impermeable barrier, a field grading adapter or joint body mounted at the end of the DC cable during the manufacturing of the high voltage DC termination or joint may be used.
