To this end, the photoconductor drum 1 comprises: disposed in order from upstream in the direction of the photoconductor drum, a blade scraper 11 contacting with the surface of the rotating photoconductor drum and a wiping roll 12 rotating reversely in rubbing contact with the surface of the rotating photoconductor drum; disposed upstream of an area of rubbing contact of the rotating wiping roll with the photoconductor drum, a squeezing roll 13 rotating normally in pressure contact with the surface of the rotating wiping roll; and disposed downstream of an area of rubbing contact of the rotating wiping roll with the photoconductor drum and upstream of the rotating squeeze roll, a brush roll 14 rotating normally or reversely in pressure contact with the surface of the rotating wiping roll, the brush roll having a portion of its outer periphery immersed in a cleaning carrier solution.

    摘要: For a line head in an ink jet recorder wherein the line head comprises a plurality of long narrow rectangular plate like nozzle heads which are inclined together in a direction relative to that in which they are disposed side by side in a line in the line head, the invention is designed to be capable of wiping ink as well that gets into gaps between adjacent nozzle heads. To this end, an elastically deformable blade 13 is used that is brought into pressure contact with nozzle faces of a line head 23 and moved in a direction in which nozzle heads 24 are inclined while maintaining the blade 13 under pressure to cause it to be deformed against the nozzle faces as it is moved. Also, contaminants adhered on the blade by the wiping action is flushed with cleaning liquid rather than by a contaminant removal member. To this end, a line head wiping apparatus for an ink jet recorder having a line head 23 comprising a plurality of nozzle heads disposed in a line for wiping nozzle faces of the line head 23 by moving a blade 13 in contact with the nozzle faces, includes: a means whereby the blade 13 is movable between a wiping position at which it is brought into contact with the nozzle faces of the line head 23 and a standby position at which it is held away from the line head; and a spray nozzle means disposed opposite to an end of the blade at the standby position for spraying a cleaning liquid onto the same.

    摘要: An apparatus is operable to print both sides of a web using two sets of ink-jet printers. A first set of printers are aligned horizontally, and so are the second set, with a vertical spacing between the first set and the second set. Paid out from its roll, the web is first fed forwardly past the first set of ink-jet printers so as to be printed on one side thereof, then reversely past the second set to be printed on the other side. The web can be guided solely by parallel rollers without the use of turning bars.

    摘要: A method of makeready for a web printing press of the type wherein a web of paper or the like is fed through a print station and a perforating or like processing station driven by first and second drive shaft sections, respectively, which are normally held interconnected via a clutch for joint rotation and which are declutched to allow the print station to operate independently of the processing station. For reconnecting the two drive shaft sections in phase, the method comprises counting the number of revolutions of the first drive shaft section after the same has been declutched from the second drive shaft section, as by a CPU connected to receive electric pulses representative of the revolutions of the first drive shaft section. Upon reception of a clutch engage command from a manually actuable control panel, the CPU computes the additional number of revolutions required for the first drive shaft section before being reconnected in phase to the second drive shaft section. The CPU puts out a signal for causing the reengagement of the clutch when the first drive shaft section completes the above computed additional number of revolutions.
