Abstract:
The invention relates to a speed control system which includes an inverter circuit for converting a direct current into a polyphase alternating current in the form of a rectangular wave by the switching action of transistors, and an inverter drive circuit adapted to apply control signals to the inverter circuit to bring its output frequency to a desired value, an induction motor being rotated by the alternating current supplied by the inverter circuit. The system features current detection means for detecting current that flows through the output side of the inverter circuit, and decision means for examining the output of the current detection means for a fixed period at a frequency higher than that at which the induction motor is driven. The decision means interrupts the operation of the inverter circuit when it has been judged that the current flowing through the outside thereof is greater than a prescribed value, and actuates the inverter circuit when the current flowing through the output side thereof is less than the prescribed value. The result is that the inverter circuit is allowed to operate intermittently at a current which does not exceed a prescribed value, whereby the induction motor runs continuously without any observable halt in operation.
Abstract:
In an LED light source device for a pulse encoder, a plurality of LEDs are divided into a plurality of groups and each of said groups is included in one of the branches connected across the power source. At least one dummy LED or dummy diode is connected in series with the LED in a predetermined one of said branches, so that the voltage drop characteristics of said branches are equalized.

An alternator for generating electric power is mounted on an automotive vehicle. The alternator includes a housing, a stator fixed in the housing, a rotor driven by an engine of the automotive vehicle, and electric components such as a brush holder. The brush holder is mounted on a rear surface of a rear frame constituting the housing and is covered with a rear cover fixed to the rear frame. The rear cover includes a surrounding wall covering the brush device to prevent water from reaching a brush area. The surrounding wall is composed of plural partial walls having respective radiuses from a rotational axis of the rotor. The surrounding wall may be continuously made by the partial walls. Alternatively, openings for draining water may be formed in the partial walls positioned downward of the rotational axis of the rotor.

Abstract:
A terminal (101) includes interfaces for communication with a mobile network (102) and a wireless LAN (103). A first IMS server (107) performs IMS call control processing relating to terminals located in the mobile network (102) and a second IMS server (111) relays a signal relating to IMS call control processing concerning terminals located in the wireless LAN (103). These IMS servers search for a mobile network packet gateway (106), a packet data gateway (110), and a gateway to be controlled by a route change request for requesting change of a packet transmission path and relay the route change request. The route change request provided from the terminal (101) is relayed by the IMS servers to provide the change request to all networks specified. The packet transmission path is changed by the gateway in accordance with the request. Thus, the terminal having the interfaces for both of the mobile communication network and the wireless LAN can select a network to use for each communication port.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus has a main body (11). A side wall (12) extends up at one side of the main body (11) while a rear wall (13) extends up at the rear of the main body (11). A document reader (14) is disposed atop the side wall (12) and the rear wall (13), and a discharging unit is defined between the document reader (14) and the main body (11). A discharge tray (16) is provided in the discharging unit for receiving recording sheets after printing, and a sheet storing portion (18) is formed between the upper surface of the main body (11) and the discharge tray (16). The sheet storing portion (18) has an opening at least at the front opposite to the rear wall (13), and the recording sheet is held to project out through the opening upon being stored into the sheet storing portion (18).
Abstract:
Disclosed is a backlight unit which illuminates a display panel from a rear surface thereof, including at least: tubular lamps arranged in parallel to the panel; and a reflecting member which reflects light from the lamps toward the panel, wherein the reflecting member is divided into a first region opposed to an area near an electrode provided in an end portion of the lamp and a second region nearer to a middle area than the first region, the first region having a higher reflectance than the second region. In another backlight unit, a reflecting member is divided, with respect to the arrangement direction of the lamps, into an end lamp near region which is opposed to a lamp arranged in end portion and a middle region which is nearer to a middle area than the end lamp region, the end lamp region having a higher reflectance than the middle region.
Abstract:
A communication device can perform handover in accordance with a traffic type. In a non-real time communication, it is possible to prevent loss of packet data. In a real time communication, a handover can be rapidly performed without causing a delay. In this device, a handover control unit (105) judges whether data type information is data in a real time communication. If the data is in a real time communication, the handover control unit (105) outputs a switching request message for switching the path switch to the local station to an IPAG interface unit (104). An L3 packet buffer management unit (106) temporarily accumulates the data transmitted from the IPAG or data transferred from other network host.
Abstract:
An alternator (AC generator) to be mounted on a vehicle comprises slip rings, brushes, a brush holder, a rear cover, and sealing members. The slip rings are fixed on a rotary shaft and rotatable together with the rotary shaft. The brushes are slidable on the slip rings and the brush holder accommodates the brushes therein. The slip-ring cover covers the slip rings as well as the brush holder and the rear cover covers electronic components including the brushes. The sealing members give a sealing performance to an inner space containing slid portions of the brushes on the slip rings. The rear cover, the brush holder, and the sealing member have a ventilating passage for positively causing an flow of air from the inner space containing the slid portions of the brushes on the slip rings to an outside of the alternator.
Abstract:
An auxiliary plate (10) is fixed to a rear plane of a housing for fixedly holding a lamp unit (6) having a plurality of lamps. In the auxiliary plate (10), a convex portion and a concave portion are combined. The convex portion has a space between the housing and itself, which is formed by protruding a sheet metal, and the concave portion contacts with the housing by denting the sheet metal. In the auxiliary plate 10, an area for mounting a board vulnerable to heat is formed with the convex portion and an air layer performs as heat insulation. The convex and concave portions are arrayed in a direction where heated air easily flows in another area. Thus, rigidity can be remarkably increased compared to a flat-shaped sheet metal, and heat generated by a backlight is effectively dissipated, as well as a temperature rise and an occurrence of a temperature gradient are suppressed.
