    摘要: A method and apparatus of a spin-type magnetoresistance sensor having a free and pinned magnetic layer stacked with a non-magnetic interposed layer are disclosed. Specifically, the spin-valve type magnetoresistance sensor of the present invention is equipped with a free ferromagnetic layer, a pinned ferromagnetic layer, a non-magnetic spacer layer which is sandwiched between the aforementioned ferromagnetic layers, an anti-ferromagnetic layer which is disposed adjacent to the aforementioned pinned ferromagnetic layer and which is used to pin the direction of magnetization of said pinned ferromagnetic layer, a non-magnetic back layer which is disposed adjacent to the aforementioned free ferromagnetic layer and which is stacked on the opposite side the free ferromagnetic layer from the aforementioned nonmagnetic spacer layer, and an electron-reflective layer which is disposed adjacent to the aforementioned back layer and which is stacked on the opposite side of the back layer from the aforementioned free ferromagnetic layer.

    摘要: The present invention provides a spin-valve magnetoresistance sensor in which are formed, on top of the substrate, free layers, and pinned layers, enclosing a nonmagnetic spacer layer, and an antiferromagnetic layer adjacent to the pinned layers. The sensor is also equipped with a back layer including at least two nonmagnetic metal layers adjacent to the free layers on the side of the free layers opposite the nonmagnetic spacer layer. The back layer has at least one nonmagnetic metal layer of Cu with high electrical conductivity, preferably formed adjacent to the free layers, as for example in a two-layer structure of Cu and Ru or a three-layer structure Ru/Cu/Ru. In addition to a high read output, fluctuations in Hint with the film thickness of the back layer can be suppressed and sensor characteristics stabilized, and high recording densities can be realized.

    摘要: Shock-absorbing material made from a mixture of solid particles and viscous elastic material is arranged at the periphery of an information storage and retrieval device. When an external shock is applied to the device, the shock-absorbing material is greatly deformed and dissipates the shock energy by inner friction sufficiently to prevent damage to the inner mechanism of the device. The deformed shock-absorbing material can be restored to the original shape so that it is repeatedly usable. Furthermore, by comparing the deformed shape and the quick reference table provided with the device, the amount shock acceleration can be roughly determined. The device conforms to one of a series of dimensional standards for information storage and retrieval devices.

    摘要: A spin-valve magnetic resistance sensor. In one embodiment, the spin-valve magnetic resistance sensor includes a pair of ferromagnetic layers with a non-magnetic layer sandwiched in between. The pair of ferromagnetic layers, the non-magnetic layer and an antiferromagnetic layer are laminated on a substrate. The antiferromagnetic layer is formed using an antiferromagnetic material which uses a Pt—Mn—X alloy, Ir—Mn—X alloy, Rh—Mn—X alloy, Ru—Mn—X alloy or Pd—Mn—X alloy. X indicates one or more elements selected from a set consisting of elements of groups IIA, IVA, VA, IIIB and IVB of the periodic table. X is in the range of 0.1 at % to 15 at %.

    摘要: A dielectric line switch is provided which is capable of easily controlling the propagation of an electromagnetic wave. Also provided is an antenna device employing said dielectric line switch. As an embodiment of the invention, a plurality of dielectric lines and a plurality of primary radiators are provided on a rotary unit. With the rotation of the rotary unit, the dielectric lines are switched ON and OFF by virtue of mechanical means, so that a desired change-over may be effected among the plurality of primary radiators in a time sharing manner, and the positions of the primary radiators may be shifted within a plane of the focal point of a dielectric lens, thereby enabling the transmission wave beam and/or reception wave beam to scan in a desired manner.

The adjacent four dielectric strips are spaced from each other substantially at 90 degrees.
