Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for MU-RTS and CTS in WLANs are disclosed. An apparatus is disclosed that comprises circuitry that is configured to generate a packet to indicate a multi-user request-to-send (MU-RTS), wherein the packet indicates one or more HEW station information fields, wherein the one or more HEW station information fields comprise an address of a HEW station and an indication of a bandwidth for the HEW station to transmit one or more clear-to-send (CTS) packets; and transmit the packet to the one or more HEW stations. A HEW device is disclosed that includes circuitry configured to receive a multi-user request-to-send (MU-RTS); copy a scramble seed from the MU-RTS to a clear-to-send (CTS) packet; and transmit the CTS packet.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for pre-association frame exchange using random access are disclosed. An apparatus of a high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) master station is disclosed. The apparatus includes transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry which may be configured to generate a trigger frame for uplink random access (TF-R), and transmit the TF-R. The transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry may be further configured to receive one or more responses in accordance with orthogonal frequency division multiple-access (OFDMA) to the trigger frame from one or more pre-association stations where the responses comprise pre-association identifiers corresponding to the one or more pre-association stations. Moreover, the transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry may be further configured to generate one or more acknowledgements to the one or more pre-association stations, and transmit the acknowledgements in accordance with OFDMA to the one or more pre-association stations.

Abstract: An apparatus, computer readable medium, and method for overlapping basic service set (OBSS) indication in a high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW). An apparatus of a high-efficiency wireless local-area network device is disclosed. The apparatus including transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry configured to receive a frame and determine whether the frame is a frame transmitted from a basic service set (BSS) or a frame transmitted from an OBSS based on one or more media access control (MAC) addresses of the frame. The MAC address may include an indication of a BSS of the HE wireless device. If the HE wireless device is an access point, then a second part of the MAC address may be a predetermined pattern, the second part of the MAC address may be a formula applied to a first part of the MAC address, or an individual/group bit of the MAC address may be set.

Abstract: An apparatus of a first high-efficiency (HE) access point (AP) or station for spatial reuse is the disclosed. The apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to: decode a first portion of a first packet; and if the first portion indicates the first packet was transmitted by a second HE AP or station and that the first packet is an overlapping basic service set (OBSS) packet, then if a preamble detect energy is below a threshold, cause to be transmitted a second packet simultaneously with a portion of the first packet after the first portion. The processing circuitry may be configured to determine the first portion was transmitted by the second HE AP or station if a field in a physical (PRY) header or a second field in a media access control (MAC) header indicate the first packet was transmitted by the second HE AP or station.

Abstract: Embodiments of a low-power wake-up radio (LP-WUR) are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a wireless device is set to a first state or a second state, wherein in the first state the wireless device is configured to receive wake-up (WU) packets, and wherein in the second state the wireless device is configured to not receive WU packets, wherein the wireless device comprises a WLAN radio and a low-power wake-up radio (LP-WUR). In some embodiments, the wireless device is configured to receive a wake-up packet, turn on the WLAN radio and turn off the LP-WUR. In some embodiments, the wireless device is configured to turn off the WLAN radio and turn on the LP-WUR for power conservation. In some embodiments, the wireless device turns off the WLAN radio and turns off the LP-WUR, and can periodically turn on the LP-WUR radio for extreme power saving.

Abstract: Apparatuses, computer readable media, and methods for multicast negative acknowledgements using high-energy long-training fields for feedback are disclosed. An apparatus of a wireless device is disclosed. The apparatus includes memory and processing circuitry coupled to the memory where the processing circuitry configured to: encode one or more packets in accordance with multicast or broadcast, cause to be transmitted the one or more packets to one or more stations, and decode feedback from the one or more stations. The feedback may be received simultaneously on a same resource block for each packet of the one or more packets. Each packet may be represented by one resource block of the one or more resource blocks. The resource blocks may be thirty-six resource blocks per 20 MHz subchannel with nine resource blocks in a frequency domain by four spatial streams.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for signaling high-efficiency packet formats using a legacy portion of the preamble in wireless local-area networks are disclosed. A high-efficiency (HE) wireless local area network (HEW) device including circuitry is disclosed. The circuitry may be configured to generate a HE packet comprising a legacy signal field (L-SIG) followed by one or more HE signal fields, and configure the L-SIG to signal to a second HEW device either a first packet format of the HE packet or a second packet format of the HE packet, where a length of the L-SIG modulo 3 is used to signal the first packet format or the second packet format. The circuitry may be configured to generate a duplicated L-SIG field with a polarity difference to indicate a third packet configuration of the HE packet or a fourth packet configuration of the HE packet.

Abstract: Methods, computer readable media, and apparatuses are disclosed for spatial reuse. A high efficiency station (HE STA) that includes circuitry is disclosed. The circuitry may be configured to: determine if a link with a wireless device is a D2D link with a spatial reuse opportunity; and transmit a packet that includes an indication that there is the spatial reuse opportunity for the duration of the packet, if the link with the wireless device is the D2D link with the spatial reuse opportunity. The circuitry may be configured to: receive a packet from a second HE STA, where the packet includes an indication that there is a spatial opportunity for the duration of the packet; adjust at least one of the following group: a transmit power and a clear channel assessment parameter; and transmit a second packet to a wireless device in the spatial opportunity in accordance with D2D communication.
