摘要: Methods and apparatuses for separating sheets of brittle material are disclosed. According to one embodiment, a separation apparatus for separating a sheet of brittle material includes a first separation cam positioned adjacent to a sheet conveyance pathway and a second separation cam positioned opposite from and downstream of the first separation cam. The first and second separation cams may be rotated such that the contact faces of the separation cams periodically extend across a centerline of the conveyance pathway. Rotation of the first and second separation cams may be synchronized such that at least the portion of the contact face of the first separation cam and at least the portion of the contact face of the second separation cam periodically extend across the centerline of the conveyance pathway at a separation time and periodically do not extend across the centerline of the conveyance pathway at a non-separation time.

摘要: Nucleic acid sequencing using concatemers of DNA is provided. Optionally, amplified reaction products from the repeated incorporation and excision of a nucleoside complementary to a nucleoside of the DNA to be sequenced onto primer molecules hybridized to the concatemers of DNA are detected. Nucleic acid sequencing using concatemers of DNA and non-natural oligonucleotides is also provided. Nucleic acid sequencing reactions are detected electronically and or optically using arrays of detectors.

摘要: The present invention relates to a field of optical fiber communication. A safeguard device for a fiber adapter used to connect an input optical fiber connector with an output optical fiber connector is provided. In a preferred embodiment, the safeguard device comprises a shutter and a shutter locking unit. The shutter is operably provided at an interface of said fiber adapter to allow the interface to switch between an open position and a closed position, wherein, the shutter at least shuts off the optical beam emitted from the input optical connector when in said closed position. The shutter locking unit is adapted for selectively locking the shutter in the open position or in the closed position. The safeguard device for the interface of the fiber adapter is configured to lock the shutter in the conventional fiber adapter to stably hold the interface of the fiber adapter in an open position or in a closed position, especially, to lock the shutter in the closed position to shut off the optical beam emitted from the input optical fiber connector so as to effectively prevent the emission leakage of the optical beam from the input optical fiber connector, thus avoiding potential safety hazard to the user.
