摘要： A solid state image pick-up device includes a number of picture elements arranged in a matrix form each picture element being constituted by a MOS transistor and a photodiode, gates of the MOS transistors arranged in a vertical direction are connected to respective horizontal scanning lines which are connected to outputs of a horizontal shift register. Drains of the MOS transistors arranged in a horizontal direction are connected to respective vertical scanning lines both ends of which are connected to first and second signal read-out lines via first and second vertical selection switches, respectively. The first and second vertical shift registers produce first and second vertical scanning pulses which are shifted by given time period corresponding to a desired shutter open time. Each picture element is scanned twice by means of the first and second vertical scanning pulses. By adjusting said time period, the shutter open time can be set at with within a wide range.

摘要： In a structure for removably mounting a support rod for an openable closure member such as engine hood, trunk lid or the like of a motor vehicle, a retainer member of a plastic material is mounted on at least one end of the support rod, and an anchor member of a plastic material which is adapted for engagement with the retainer member, is mounted in a mounting aperture formed either in the vehicle's body or the openable closure member. By virtue of the engagement between the retainer member and the anchor member, the support rod is removably retained with respect to either the vehicle's body or the openable closure member, thereby supporting the openable closure member at its open position.

摘要： An optical amplifier particularly for use in a high data-rate fibre-optics communication link utilizing a body of a dielectric substance transparent to signal light of a given band of wavelengths and transparent also to pumping light of a different band of wavelengths, a smooth continuous surface along the length of the body having as amplifying component a layer of laser material adhered contiguous to the surface. Both signal light and pumping light are introduced into an end face of the body, which may be a passive dielectric fibre core such as glass, or a passive dielectric slab with parallel side walls, utilising mode order converting holograms. By the phenomenon of penetration by light of both frequencies within a thin layer of the adhered material as the light beams undergo multiple total internal reflections at the interface between the body and the laser material, atoms of active material, e.g. Nd.sup..sup.+ 3 or organic dye molecules in the laser medium are optically pumped to a higher energy level, and fluoresce and are stimulated by the evanescent-wave component of the signal light to coherently emit light in a band of wavelengths correlated with the signal band of wavelengths. The amplified signal light is delivered from the other end face, and is launched through further hologram devices in a transmission mode into a succeeding fibre or slab of the link.

A casing movement guiding/supporting mechanism is interposed between one side portion of the first casing and that of the second casing in one direction intersecting a moving locus of the second casing between a retracted position and an extended position in relation to the accommodating portion, and supports the second casing to be movable linearly between the retracted and extended positions. The second casing is selectively locked at the retracted position by a locking mechanism. A battery for supplying electricity to the wiring boards is accommodated in an accommodating chamber in at least one of the casings.
