摘要: The present invention has as an object to reduce display unevenness that occurs under the influence of a coupling between a first pixel in which a green component is displayed and a data signal line by which second pixel is driven. The present invention includes a correction process section (21) for obtaining pixel data on a second pixel in which a blue component or a red component is displayed, the second pixel being driven by a data signal line adjacent to a first pixel in which a green component is displayed, and for, if the pixel data on the second pixel represents a tone value falling within a range of 0 to a predetermined first value, correcting the tone value to be the first value.

摘要: Featured is a liquid crystal display device including first and second transparent substrates and a liquid crystal layer interposed there between that includes a plurality of domains in each pixel region. Also included are first and second polarizing plates and first and second phase compensators; the first compensator is provided between the first polarizing plate and first substrate and the second compensator is between the second polarizing plate and second substrate. The phase-delay axes for the first and second compensators are parallel to each other and substantially perpendicular to a phase-delay axis of the liquid crystal layer. A third phase difference compensator is provided between the first and/or second polarizing plate and the corresponding first or second compensator.

摘要: At least one embodiment of a liquid crystal display device including: scanning signal lines provided in a display area; and a dummy scanning signal line provided in a non-display area, the scanning signal lines being divided into groups each of which includes a plurality of scanning signal lines, the groups being sequentially selected, signal electric potentials of an identical polarity being sequentially supplied to a data signal line while scanning signal lines belonging to a selected group are sequentially scanned horizontally, the polarity of the signal electric potentials being inverted when the selected group is changed from a preceding group to a succeeding group which is selected immediately after the preceding group, a dummy scanning period being inserted between a horizontal scanning period corresponding to last horizontal scanning in the preceding group and a horizontal scanning period corresponding to first horizontal scanning in the succeeding group, and the dummy scanning signal line being subjected to dummy scanning during the dummy scanning period. With the arrangement, it is possible to suppress horizontal-shaped unevenness that occurs in a case where block inversion driving is carried out.

摘要: A plurality of groups each of which includes a plurality of scanning signal lines are sequentially selected; a polarity of the data signal electric potentials in one (first group) of sequentially-selected groups is set to be different from that of the other (second group) of the two groups; two pieces of dummy scan periods are put between (i) a horizontal scan period corresponding to a last horizontal scan in the first group and (ii) a horizontal scan period corresponding to a first horizontal scan in the second group; dummy signal electric potentials are supplied to the data signal line in the dummy scan periods; and a time period from when a scanning pulse which corresponds to the last horizontal scan in the first group becomes nonactive to when the dummy scan period is started is set to be longer than a time period from when a scanning pulse corresponding to one of consecutive two horizontal scans becomes nonactive in the first group to when a horizontal scan period corresponding to the other of the consecutive two horizontal scans is started. This makes it possible to enhance display quality in a case where the data signal line is subjected to the block-reversal driving.

摘要: A liquid crystal display device which carries out a single tone display with a change in pixel luminance during a single cycle composed of first to mth frame periods (m is an integer of 4 or more), includes: pixels of a first type in which when a halftone is displayed, supply of two or more kinds of data voltage during at least either the first to nth frame periods (n is an integer of 2 or more to m or less) or the (n+1)th to mth frame periods causes liquid crystal layers to produce rise responses during the first to nth frame periods and produce decay responses during the (n+1)th to mth frame periods; and pixels of a second type in which when a halftone is displayed, supply of two or more kinds of data voltage during at least either the first to nth frame periods or the (n+1)th to mth frame periods causes liquid crystal layers to produce decay responses during the first to nth frame periods and produce rise responses during the (n+1)th to mth frame periods. This makes it possible to achieve both an improvement in viewing angle characteristic and a reduction in flickers.

摘要: Provided is a data processing apparatus including a correction circuit. In at least one embodiment, the data correction circuit acquires pixel data of a first pixel for display of a first color component and pixel data of a second pixel for display of a second color component, the second pixel being driven by a scanning signal line which drives the first pixel and being driven by a data signal line which is adjacent to the first pixel, and corrects the pixel data of the second pixel in accordance with a relationship between a value of the pixel data of the first pixel and a value of the pixel data of the second pixel. Thus, it is possible to cause a liquid crystal driving panel to perform uniform display without causing display unevenness even in a case where a halftone of a specific color component is uniformly displayed.

摘要: A storage capacitor bus line (CsL) connected to a CS trunk line (bb) of at least one of CS trunk line groups (BB1 and BB2), which CS trunk line (bb) is other than a CS trunk line (bb) being closest to an active area (AA), has a meandering part (41) in its feed part (F) that extends from the active area (AA) to a connection point where the storage capacitor bus line (CsL) is connected to the CS trunk line (bb). The meandering part (41) is a part drawn out and deviated from a line on which the storage capacitor bus line (CsL) extends, and the meandering part (41) has a line length which is larger as a distance (d) from the active area AA to the connection point is smaller.
