摘要: Strong and tough steel is prepared by heating to a temperature of 800.degree. - 1000.degree. C., preferably from 800.degree. to 950.degree. C., before the rolling step, finish rolling at temperatures within the range of from 680.degree. to 850.degree. C., preferably from 680.degree. to 800.degree. C. and with a reduction ratio in thickness of not less than 30% based on the plate thickness of the steel when the finish rolling is started. It is advantageous to provide for a pretreatment of the steel, said pretreatment including the steps of initially heating the steel to a temperature higher than 1000.degree. C., rolling the heated steel to a suitable intermediate thickness and cooling the rolled steel to a temperature lower than 650.degree. C.Tempering may also be carried out at a temperature of 500.degree. - 650.degree. C. for 20 minutes -- 2 hours.

摘要: In a lighting apparatus containing a high pressure discharge lamp, an alternating current supplied to the discharge lamp at the time of steady lighting of the frequency (basic frequency) selected from a range between 60 and 1000 Hz and a low frequency having a frequency selected from a range between 5 and 200 Hz lower than the basic frequency is generated alternately. The frequency of the low frequency wave is changed in response to the change of the lighting voltage of the discharge lamp. The supply period of the basic frequency is increased and decreased little by little by every predetermined time.

摘要: A diagnosing operation controlling portion compares the magnitude of change of a control instruction value that controls the dislocation of a valve stem to a reference value that has been set in advance, and stops the malfunction evaluation operation in a diagnosing portion if the magnitude of change per unit time in the control instruction value exceeds a reference value. If the magnitude of change per unit time in the control instruction value exceeds the reference value, then the evaluation may be the same as for a case wherein a stick-slip has occurred, even if the operation is functioning properly. In contrast, it is possible to prevent incorrect stick-slip evaluations by stopping the operation of the diagnosing portion when the magnitude of change per unit time in the control instruction value exceeds a reference value.

摘要: A document feeding and reading unit and an image forming apparatus capable of reducing errors in magnification copying when the change in the diameter of drive motors results from heating. The document feeding and reading unit reads a document image while transporting a document sheet. At least one transport mechanism, including at least one drive roller and driven roller brought into slidable contact with a drive roller, transports the document sheet while holding the document between the drive roller and the driven roller. A detector measures the temperature at a location of the document feeding and reading unit. A controller controls the rotation speed of the drive roller based on temperature information acquired by the temperature detector. The document feeding and reading unit can be suitably incorporated into an image forming apparatus.
