摘要： This is a system having a personal identification function to perform a registering operation not as an explicit one. The system simplifies the confirmation of an identification result thereby to improve dictionary updating conveniences. A device control apparatus is configured to include a face identification processor, a device setting unit and an interactive processor. The device control apparatus is configured to acquire personal data on the face image of a user, to identify a person matching the acquired personal data, by comparing the acquired personal data and registered personal dictionary data, to display the face image, as matching the identified person, at the registration time on the basis of the registered personal dictionary data, to receive such confirmation information from the user as to confirm whether or not the displayed person is identical to the user, and to set device environment parameters matching the confirmed person.

摘要： An image input unit inputs an image including a user's face area to specify the user's gaze or face direction. A pattern generation unit generates an input pattern that can be compared with each dictionary pattern from the image. A dictionary unit previously stores a plurality of dictionary patterns each of which differently corresponds to the user's gaze or face direction. A pattern comparison unit respectively calculates a similarity degree between the input pattern and each of the dictionary patterns by comparing the input pattern with each of the dictionary patterns. A gaze detection unit detects the user's gaze or face direction based on the similarity degree.

The image processing device includes an image input unit for acquiring an image of an image of a subject, a face area detector for detecting the face area of the subject in the obtained image, a rotation direction judging unit for judging a relative rotation direction and angle of a face with respect to a device depending on the vertical direction of the detected face area, and a screen controller for rotating an image to be displayed according to the rotation direction of the corresponding image and for displaying the image to be displayed.

摘要： A gaze position detection apparatus. A dictionary section previously stores a plurality of dictionary patterns representing a user's image including pupils. An image input section inputs an image including the user's pupils. A feature point extraction section extracts at least one feature point from a face area on the input image. A pattern extraction section geometrically transforms the input image according to a relative position of the feature point on the input image, and extracts a pattern including the user s pupils from the transformed image. A gaze position determination section compares the extracted pattern with the plurality of dictionary patterns, and determines the user's gaze position according to the dictionary pattern matched with the extracted pattern.

摘要： In a tracking control apparatus of a recording and reproducing apparatus for an optical disk, information is recorded in groove tracks and land tracks of the optical disk and address information is recorded in an address area arranged to each of the groove tracks and the land tracks, a control signal corresponding to a positional deviation between a light beam spot and a track is derived on the basis of light reflected from the optical disk, and hence an address period in which the light beam spot traces the address area is derived. When the light beam spot traces the land track, a tracking operation is performed by a control signal which is invert in polarity to that of groove track, and when the light beam spot traces the address area, the tracking control is performed by a signal of the same polarity as that of the groove track.
