摘要: A vehicle light apparatus includes: a power consuming portion provided in parallel with a group of light emitting elements for causing a total power value including power consumed by the lamp to become a normal power value, a breakage detecting portion for detecting a breakage with respect to the group of light emitting elements, and a control portion for controlling power supply to the group of light emitting elements, wherein in the event that a breakage of the group of light emitting elements is detected by the breakage detecting portion, a power supply to the lamp including the group of broken light emitting elements is stopped or power supplied to the lamp is reduced by the control portion. By providing the power consuming portion, the load characteristic can be made constant, and power consumption can be reduced when a breakage of the light emitting element is detected.

摘要: In a discharge lamp lighting circuit, a DC—DC converting circuit has a switching element to be connected to a transformer and a primary winding thereof, and control is carried out in such a manner that the transformer stores energy while the switching element is set in an ON state in response to a signal sent from a control circuit, the energy is output from a secondary winding of the transformer while the switching element is set in an OFF state, and the switching element is turned ON when the energy is completely output from the secondary winding in a stable lighting state of a discharge lamp. A fluctuation is applied to the control of an output current or power related to the discharge lamp which is carried out for the ON period of the switching element, thereby changing a switching frequency.

摘要: In a discharge-lamp lighting circuit for turning on a plurality of discharge lamps, starting circuits 8 for supplying starting pulses to the respective discharge lamps are provided. Each starting circuit 8 has transformers T1 and T2 equal in number to the discharge lamps and each of the transformers has a primary and a secondary winding. The discharge lamps 6—1 and 6—2 are connected to the respective secondary windings T1s and T2s. Capacitors C1 and C2 are connected to the respective primary windings T1p and T2p of the transformers and one switch element SW is provided in a circuit including the primary windings and the capacitors. When the accumulated charge in each capacitor is discharged via the primary winding of the transformer as the switch element SW conducts, the starting pulse is generated and supplied to each discharge lamp via the secondary winding of each transformer.

In the case in which each discharge lamp is to be lighted up, a polarity fixing period is set to define the polarity of the voltage to be supplied from the DC-AC converting circuit 3′ to the discharge lamp before and after the discharge lamp is lighted up to be positive or negative. For this period, control is carried out such that a current flowing to the discharge lamp does not exceed a predetermined limit current value. Consequently, when a first discharge lamp has already been lighted up and a second discharge lamp is to be lighted up, it is possible to relieve the influence of a thermal stress applied to the first discharge lamp by the control of an output polarity for the discharge lamp.

The inverter device further includes: a first driving controller for generating a first driving signal and for driving the first switch unit based on the first driving signal, the first driving signal rising with the first speed at a rising of the pulse signal in a direction for turning on the first switch unit and falling with the second speed higher than the first speed at a falling of the pulse signal in a direction for turning off the first switch unit; and a second driving controller for generating a second driving signal and for driving the second switch unit based on the second driving signal, the second driving signal falling with the third speed at the rising of the pulse signal in the direction for turning on the first switch unit and rising with the fourth speed at the falling of the pulse signal in the direction for turning off the first switch unit, the third and fourth speeds being between the first and second speeds.

摘要: A discharge lamp lighting circuit 1 has a DC power supply circuit 3 for outputting a DC voltage, a DC-AC conversion circuit 4 for converting the output voltage of the DC power supply circuit into an AC voltage and then supplying the AC voltage to a discharge lamp 6, and a current detection circuit 8 for detecting an electric current flowing into the discharge lamp. Just after the discharge lamp 6 is lighted, the output frequency of the DC-AC conversion circuit 4 is temporarily changed for defining the lighting frequency of the discharge lamp as a low frequency, to perform DC lighting over a predetermined time. A control circuit 7 determines the duration of the DC lighting by the time it takes for the product of the time and the value of current flowing into the discharge lamp 6 to equal a predetermined value.
