Abstract: The present disclosure provides techniques for preamble puncturing in wireless local area networks (WLANs). In one implementation, an access point (AP) can identify, within a channel width, one or more bandwidth regions associated with incumbent technologies. The AP can broadcast or advertise, to a basic service set (BSS) initiated or started by the AP, a preamble puncture pattern in one or more management frames, the preamble puncture pattern being based on the bandwidth regions associated with incumbent technologies. In another implementation, an AP can identify a single user (SU) preamble puncture transmission, and can signal in a common portion of a SIG-B field of a multi-user (MU) PPDU format that a resource unit (RU) size is assigned to a same user to indicate the SU preamble puncture transmission. Although these techniques may be used in any frequency band, typical frequency bands may include, but are not limited to, a 2.4 GHz band, a 5 GHz band, and/or a 6 GHz band.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for data retransmissions in a wireless network. In some implementations, a wireless communication device may transmit a first data unit to a receiving device, may receive a first hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback frame indicating that a portion of the first data unit was not successfully decoded by the receiving device, may retransmit the indicated portion of the first data unit to the receiving device in response to the first HARQ feedback frame, and may transmit a second data unit, different than the first data unit, to the receiving device concurrently with the retransmission of the indicated portion of the first data unit.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for communicating over a wireless communication network. One such apparatus may include a memory and a processor configured to identify a transmission mode for a transmission of a signal; select a tone plan for transmission of the signal within a 320 MHz total channel bandwidth or a 240 MHz total channel bandwidth, where the tone plan includes a 256 point tone plan, 512 point tone plan, 1024 point tone plane, 2048 point tone plan, 4096 point tone plan, and where the tone plan is selected based on the transmission mode; generate the signal according to the tone plan; and transmit the signal over the 320 MHz total channel bandwidth or over the 240 MHz total channel bandwidth. The selected tone plan may include one or more duplicates of an IEEE 802.11ax 80 MHz (HE80) tone plan which may include one or more null space 26 tone resource units.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, or apparatuses that support a 20 MHz station (STA) parked on a secondary channel. Without the described techniques, mechanisms to support secondary channel operation may be unable to receive management frames or broadcast traffic from an access point (AP), which may cause the STA to lose synchronization with the AP, miss a channel change or other critical announcement from the AP, etc. Considerations for providing such information to STAs parked on a secondary channel are discussed. In some examples, an AP may restrict resource unit allocation to the secondary channel on which the STA is parked. In some cases, a trigger-based random access mechanism may utilize aspects of the present disclosure to limit access to certain resource units to STAs on a given secondary channel.

Abstract: A wireless device may selectively add padding to an end of a data transmission in order to provide adequate time for a receiving device to process the transmitted data and transmit feedback related to the transmitted data. A wireless device may identify a total amount of data capable of being transmitted in a transmission, and determine a number of data bits to be transmitted in the transmission. An amount of padding may be selected based on a proportion of the total amount of data capable of being transmitted and the number of data bits. In some examples, a preamble for a feedback transmission may be transmitted concurrently with processing of the received transmission.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are disclosed that may perform ranging operations between a first device and a second device. The second device transmits an FTM request frame indicating a number of supported non-legacy ACK frame formats, and receives a first FTM frame indicating capabilities of the first device to receive each of the non-legacy ACK frame formats supported by the second device. Abstract: A method and apparatus for concurrent wireless communications on multiple channels of the same frequency band. A wireless device receives a first data signal via a first transceiver chain while concurrently initiating a transmission of a second data signal via a second transceiver chain of the wireless device. The wireless device suspends updates to one or more tracking loops of the first transceiver chain in response to initiating the transmission of the second data signal. The updates to the one or more tracking loops may be suspended prior to transmitting the second set of data from the second transceiver chain. The wireless device may subsequently resume updates to the one or more tracking loops of the first transceiver chain after completing the transmission of the second data signal.
