Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may establish a unicast connection over a sidelink communications with a second UE. To establish the unicast connection over the sidelink, the first UE may transmit a request message (e.g., a first message) to the second UE, and the second UE may transmit a response message (e.g., a second message) to the first UE accepting the request. The unicast connection over the sidelink may then be established between the first UE and the second UE, and user data may then be transmitted over the sidelink on the established unicast connection. Additionally, the first UE may transmit a connection complete message (e.g., a third message) to the second UE indicating that the unicast connection has been established. The request message, the response message, and the connection complete message may be radio resource control (RRC) messages.

Abstract: In one aspect of the disclosure, to improve the performance of device-to-device based relay communication, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for performing rate control based on feedback from participating UEs are provided. The apparatus may be a first UE. The first UE may receive a signal from a second UE through a device-to-device communication channel. The first UE may determine a feedback based on the received signal. The first UE may transmit the feedback to adjust transmission of the signal at the second UE. In another aspect of the disclosure, a first UE may transmit a signal to a second UE through a device-to-device communication channel. The first UE may receive a feedback of the signal. The first UE may adjust transmission of the signal based on the feedback.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for scheduling traffic between a transmitting device and a receiving device. A transmitting device negotiates with a receiving device to reserve a plurality of slots for communicating data with the receiving device. The transmitting device then sends, at a beginning of one slot of the reserved plurality of slots, a request-to-send (RTS) message indicating a number of slots of the reserved plurality of slots the transmitting device intends to use for transmitting the data. The transmitting device receives, from the receiving device, a clear-to-send (CTS) message in each slot of the number of slots based on the RTS message and transmits the data to the receiving device in each slot of the number of slots upon receiving the CTS message in each slot. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable mediums for wireless communication are disclosed by the present disclosure. In an example, a client wireless device may transmit a random access channel (RACH) preamble on a first time domain resource to a recipient such as a host wireless device. The client wireless device may later transmit a second RACH message to the recipient on a second time domain resource after the first time domain resource. The second time domain resource may be defined by a mapping from the first time domain resource. The recipient may transmit a third RACH message establishing a communication session between the host wireless device and the client wireless device. The second RACH message may include one or more of: an identifier of the wireless device; an identifier of the recipient of the second RACH message; a resource configuration for subsequent RACH messages; or timing information.

Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may perform a slot reservation procedure to obtain a TxOP for communicating with a second UE. The slot reservation procedure may be performed in an earliest slot in the TxOP in which the first UE has data to send to the second UE. The apparatus may transmit the data to the second UE using at least one slot in the TxOP when the slot reservation procedure is successful. In certain aspects, all remaining slots in the TxOP may be reserved for the first UE when the slot reservation procedure is successful. The apparatus may refrain from performing a subsequent slot reservation procedure in another slot in the TxOP when the slot reservation procedure is unsuccessful unless an end of transmission signal is received during the TxOP.

In an example, a relay node may determine a first predicted motion of a first vehicle including a first wireless communication device having a first established communication channel with the relay node. The relay node may determine that the first predicted motion will trigger a communication condition for the first vehicle and a second wireless communication device having a second established communication channel with the relay node. The relay node may reserve radio resources for a third communication channel between the first wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device.

In some cases, the UE may transmit an indication of the sidelink DRX parameters to another UE (e.g., via a sidelink communication link). A UE may discontinuously monitor for transmissions over the sidelink communication link in accordance with the sidelink DRX parameters.

In some aspects, a client device may receive a discovery signal from a host device; determine whether to use a receive timing from the host device, an internal timing of the client device, or a combination of the receive timing and the internal timing to configure a reference timing; configure the reference timing, for transmission of a response to the discovery signal, using the receive timing from the host device, the internal timing of the client device, or the combination of the receive timing and the internal timing based at least in part on the determination of whether to use the receive timing, the internal timing, or the combination of the receive timing and the internal timing; and transmit the response to the host device using the configured reference timing. Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may communicate with one or more other UEs using multiple transmissions in a device-to-device (D2D) communications deployment. A number of UEs may be configured with D2D resources, and a transmitting UE may identify available D2D resources from the configured resources. The transmitting UE may identify a resource for a first transmission of a D2D transmission from the available D2D resources, and may identify a second resource for a second transmission of the D2D transmission. The second transmission may be a blind HARQ transmission that may be transmitted to enhance the likelihood that one or more receiving UEs successfully receive the transmission. In some examples, the second resource may be identified based on other available resources within an predetermined time window around the first transmission.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to beamforming from a vehicle user equipment (UE). In a first aspect, a beamform vector is selected based on beamform data received from a scheduling entity. Here, the beamform data corresponds to a path between a vehicle UE and a base station or another vehicle, and the beamform vector includes respective phases and amplitudes corresponding to each of a plurality of antennas of the vehicle UE. A beam is then generated in accordance with the beamform vector. In another aspect, a database of beamform data is maintained, and beamform data from the database is retrieved. Here, the retrieved beamform data corresponds to a particular location pair that includes a first location associated with a location of a vehicle UE, and a second location associated with a location of a base station or another vehicle. The beamform data is then transmitted to the vehicle UE.
