摘要: On the screen of a computer, a server, a storage device and an FC switch are virtually provided and these devices are connected by a physical path. When an instance is generated in the server and the instance is dragged/dropped into the storage device, both the command to establish a multipath and the command to acquire a data area corresponding to the instance in the storage device are automatically generated. These commands are transmitted to the respective devices of an actually configured storage system.

摘要: A non-volatile memory, which comprises an insulating substrate (11) that has a first electrode (18) that extends through the substrate from the front surface to the rear surface thereof; a second electrode (13) that is formed on one side of the insulating substrate (11); and a recording layer (12) that is clamped between the first electrode (18) and the second electrode (13) and whose resistance value varies when an electric pulse is applied across the first electrode (18) and the second electrode (13); wherein the insulating substrate (11) has a layered structure composed of an organic dielectric thin film (112) and an inorganic dielectric layer (111) that is thinner than the organic dielectric thin film (112); with the recording layer (12) being formed on the side on which the inorganic dielectric layer is formed. Use of this non-volatile memory increases the possible number of data writing cycles while saving power.

摘要: A reliability verification program that enables network administrators to verify the redundancy of a system that they operate. With reference to network configuration data describing physical connections of a network system, the program selects a source device and a destination device as a start point and an end point of access routes. A verification route is then determined by tracing the physical connections from the selected source device to the selected destination device. Based on the network configuration data, the program creates network configuration verification data by excluding data about devices and physical links involved in the determined verification route. This network configuration verification data is used to find a redundant route from the source device to the destination device. The presence of a redundant route corresponding to the verification route means that the network system has good redundancy in its physical connections.

摘要: System for detecting stability/instability of behavior of a motor vehicle upon occurrence of tire slip or lock. State of the motor vehicle is determined on the basis of an alignment torque (Ta) applied from a road and a side slip angle (β). By taking advantage of such torque/slip-angle characteristic that although the alignment torque is proportional to a side slip angle when the latter is small, the alignment torque becomes smaller as the side slip angle increases, a normal value is determined from a straight line slope and the side slip angle in a region where the latter is small. Unstable behavior of the motor vehicle is determined when deviation of actual measured value from the normal value increases. Further, unstable state is determined when the slope of the alignment torque for the slip angle departs significantly from that of approximate straight line slope.

摘要: The present invention relates to novel secretory polypeptides and precursor proteins thereof, which show a high homology to MIA (melanoma inhibitor activity)/CD-RAP (bovine cartilage-derived retinoic acid-sensitive protein); are specifically expressed in the cartilage tissue; and have an effect on the cartilage differentiation. The polypeptides and the DNAs encoding the same can be used for the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of bone and joint diseases or pathological angiogenesis. As well, the polypeptides are useful as a reagent for screening a compound that promotes or inhibits the activity of the polypeptides. The antibody to the polypeptides can be used for the detection, quantification, or neutralization of the polypeptide in a test sample fluid. Further by using the promoter of the present invention, a therapeutic protein can be expressed predominantly in the cartilage tissue for a gene therapy.

摘要: An automatic performing apparatus and an electronic instrument with which a user can carry out an automatic musical performance, even for a complicated arrangement, simply by providing external events at certain intervals or corresponding only to a melody. In such an electronic instrument, at the time of execution of the automatic musical performance, the keyboard events are provided at intervals of one beat. Then, the automatic musical performance is progressed within a certain section corresponding to each of the provided keyboard events. Otherwise, at the time of execution of the automatic musical performance, the keyboard events are provided at the timing of a melody. Then, musical tones for the corresponding melody are generated, while those for accompaniments following the melody are also automatically generated. Furthermore, the tempo of the automatic musical performance is set on the basis of intervals between the keyboard events.

摘要: Ink and a follower advancing with consumption of the ink are stored directly in the inside of a barrel having a pen point at its forward end. An outer tail plug constituted by a closed-end cylinder is fitted to a rear outer surface of the barrel. An air course is formed between the rear outer surface of the barrel and an inner surface of the outer tail plug to communicate with the inside of the barrel through a rear end aperture portion of the barrel. At least one air hole is provided ahead of the rear end aperture portion of the barrel to make the air course communicate with the outside air.
