摘要: When controlling the audio signal to the mute mode from an unmute mode, first, the muting circuit switches from the non-attenuating state to the attenuating state to cause the muting circuit to attenuate the audio signal by the predetermined amount of attenuation, and then, the amount of attenuation by the volume control section is set to the maximum amount of attenuation to cause the volume control section to attenuate the audio signal by the maximum amount of attenuation.

摘要: A detection unit to optically detect a discharge condition of a droplet is disclosed. The detection unit includes a light emitting element and a light receiving element disposed on opposite sides of an area through which a droplet discharged from a droplet-discharger passes. A diaphragm plate having an aperture and another diaphragm plate having at least two apertures arranged at a pitch in a discharge direction are respectively disposed near front surfaces of the two elements. When light emitted from the light emitting element passes through the apertures, two light beams are received by the light receiving element. When the droplet is discharged and passes in front of the apertures, the two light beams are blocked sequentially by the ink droplet, which causes the quantity of light received by the light receiving element to change, thereby inducing a change in an output from the light receiving element. Based on the change in the output, a discharge-condition of the droplet is determined.

摘要: A first airbag apparatus of the present invention has an airbag module, which includes an airbag and an inflator, and a displacement mechanism, which displaces the airbag module. The displacement mechanism displaces the airbag module from an original position to a predetermined position when a collision of the vehicle is predicted and displaces the airbag module from the predetermined position to the original position when the predicted collision is avoided. A second airbag apparatus of the present invention has the airbag module and the displacement mechanism, which displaces a support member. The support member displaces the airbag from the original position to the predetermined position before the airbag is deployed. The deployed airbag is supported between the support body that is displaced to the predetermined position and an occupant.

摘要: Disclosed is an image reading apparatus in which the band width for reading by one scanning is variable in accordance with the original size, the reading mode, etc. R, G, and B image data of the k-th band is successively read in one-band width to store image data R1, G1, and B1 of pixel coordinates X(n, m). Then, the original is fed so as to cause partial overlapping of the (k+1)-th band with a lower predetermined pixel region of the k-th band, and R, G, and B image data of the (k+1)-th band is read in one-band width to successively store image data R2, G2, and B2 of pixel coordinates X(n, m′). The image data obtained through overlap reading of the k-th band and the (k+1)-th band is averaged to calculate correction image data, which is transferred to a host computer along with along other image data which has not been averaged as read image data. And, it is possible to optimize reading time according to the kind of original, reading mode, etc., without involving a deterioration in image quality.
