Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which beam configuration management service is provided. A network device of a wireless access network provides the service that includes identifying redundant configurations across carriers associated with a cell group, and links the common beam configurations to these carriers. The service also includes identifying any difference in beam configurations relative to the common beam configurations for a carrier. The service may transmit this beam configuration information in a control plane message to an end device. The end device may use the beam configuration information.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can receive a first data stream and a second data stream; store data units of the second data stream, as stored data units, in a buffer while a retransmission operation is performed for the first data stream; determine that a threshold is satisfied with regard to the buffer, wherein the threshold is associated with a counter that is maintained based on the storing of the data units; and provide the stored data units based on determining that the threshold is satisfied.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide for receiving a cell signal of a frequency band via a 5G/New Radio (5G/NR) carrier, wherein a user device includes a 5G/NR modem and a 4G/Long Term Evolution (4G/LTE) modem; determining that the frequency band is a shared spectrum carrier; forwarding the cell signal from a radio frequency (RF) element of the user device to the 5G/NR modem and the 4G/LTE modem; using, based on the forwarded cell signal, the 4G/LTE modem to identify one or more RF signals from one or more cells, wherein the one or more RF signals include a 4G/LTE carrier in the frequency band; and directing the 4G/LTE modem to notify the 5G/NR modem of the one or more RF signals.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide reliable voice connections and highest possible data rates in New Radio dual-connectivity environments, given limitations of available spectrum. A system includes a first wireless station and a second wireless station. The first wireless station provides a shared spectrum of a first frequency band, the shared spectrum including a first spectrum for a first cellular wireless standard and a second spectrum for a second cellular wireless standard. The second wireless station is at least partially within a coverage area of the first wireless station and provides a third spectrum for the second cellular wireless standard. The third spectrum is a millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum. The first wireless station broadcasts cell parameters barring an end device in an idle mode from camping on the second spectrum. The first wireless station or the second wireless station triggers the end device to swap to the second spectrum when a paging request for a voice call is received.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide a false grant detection service. An end device may receive downlink control information when in a discontinuous reception active state. The downlink control information may include a new downlink transmission grant or a new uplink transmission grant. When downlink data pertaining to the new downlink transmission grant is unsuccessfully decoded, the end device may identify the new downlink transmission grant as a potential false grant and invoke a verification procedure. Depending on the result of the verification procedure, the end device may or may not start a discontinuous reception inactivity timer depending on whether the potential false grant is deemed a false grant or a valid grant. Similarly, the end device may invoke a verification procedure for a new uplink transmission grant. The detection of false grants may minimize the waste of power for the end device.
