摘要： A tool holder is detachably secured to the lower end of a main spindle by means of a clamping nut having a female screw cooperating with a male screw of the main spindle such that keys are inserted into corresponding key recesses formed in an upper end face of the tool holder. Within the main spindle, there is arranged a driving shaft movably in an axial direction. Within the tool holder, a piston member is arranged movably in the axial direction. To a lower end of the driving shaft is provided a projection having a circular recess formed in an outer surface thereof. To an upper end portion of the piston member are secured a plurality of steel balls movably in a radial direction. A lower end of the piston member is formed as an inclined surface which is engaged with a cam surface of a tool fitting plate arranged movably in the radial direction. When the driving shaft is moved downward, the balls are inserted into the circular recess formed in the projection of the driving shaft so that the driving shaft is coupled with the piston member. Therefore, by moving the driving shaft up and down, the piston member is also moved up and down and this movement of the piston member is converted into the radial movement of the tool fitting plate. By moving the driving shaft upward, the tool holder may be exchanged automatically.

摘要： An automotive air conditioning apparatus includes an input shaft connected to an engine, a pump unit disposed on the input shaft, a compressor unit disposed on the input shaft, and a separator wall disposed between the pump unit and the compressor unit and adapted to seal therebetween in the axial direction of the input shaft. The pump unit includes a first short-circuiting passage communicating the suction space and the discharge space, and the first short-circuiting passage is provided with a first control valve. The compressor unit includes a second short-circuiting passage communicating the suction area and the discharge area, and the second short-circuiting passage is provided with a second control valve. When heating, the first short-circuiting passage is closed with the first control valve, and the second short-circuiting passage is opened with the second control valve to disable the compressor unit. When cooling, the first short-circuiting passage is opened with the first control valve to disable the pump unit, and the second short-circuiting passage is closed with the second control valve.

摘要： An axial piston pump, for pumping an operating oil in a hydraulic system, comprises a rotary cylinder block having a plurality of cylinder bores formed therein and disposed at regular intervals around a rotational axis thereof. Each bore is opened at a bottom thereof through a hole formed in an end wall of the cylinder block, a plurality of pistons being slidably received in the bores, respectively. Further, the pump comprises a fixed slant cam plate engaged with the pistons during a rotation of the block, for causing a reciprocation of the pistons within the cylinder bores, and a fixed valve plate having a suction port and a discharge port. The block end wall is resiliently pressed against the valve plate so that the holes of the bores are operatively connected with the suction and discharge ports of the valve plate during the rotation of the block. The valve plate has an annular seal land formed thereon and surrounding the ports, to thereby form an annular oil groove around the annular seal land, and a plurality of bearing lands formed at regularly spaced intervals along a periphery of the valve plate member, to thus form a radial oil passage between two adjacent bearing lands. The radial oil passage is at least partially defined by a cylindrical surface or sloped surface so that a penetration of the operating oil from the radial oil passage into a fine space between the bearing lands and the cylinder block end wall.

摘要： A processing method is presented for treating sludges from municipal and waste materials. The ashes from such sludges, containing SiO.sub.2 as a primary constituent, are treated with additives to tailor the feed material composition. Thermal processing, including melting, rapid cooling and subsequent annealing, produces a crystallized glass microstructure in which needle-shaped shaped crystals of anorthite and .beta.-wollastnite are infiltrated with a vitreous material. Such crystallized glasses having superior mechanical and aesthetic properties are an attractive architectural material which can be utilized for interior finishing, exterior walls, flooring as well as for interior decorations.

摘要： A compact printer has a sheet feeder positioned at its front wall and electrophotographic components arranged along a sheet moving path for receiving a sheet from the sheet feeder and for exposing, developing, then transferring a toner image onto the sheet. At its rear side, the printer has an image fixing unit and a discharge portion for discharging the sheet to a side output tray or onto the top wall of the printer. The discharge portion is provided with a detachably hinged, sheet turning apparatus when it is desired to discharge sheets onto the top wall, or with a detachably hinged cover with a rear opening to discharge sheets onto a rear side output tray.

摘要： A pattern sensor installed in a sewing machine for sensing patterns on two opposing sheets of cloth so that the patterns on the separate cloths are correctly aligned while sewing. The sensor is composed of a sensor head disposed between the two sheets of cloth, a light source, a light receiver, two light conduits including bundles of thin optical fibers, and a reflector which is composed of two prisms provided in the sensor head. The light emitted from the light source is transmitted via separate conduits and respectively enters the prisms. One beam is reflected upward toward the upper cloth, and the other is reflected downward toward the lower cloth for sensing the patterns. The light reflected on each cloth returns to the light receiver via the reverse route to be processed as a pattern signal.

摘要： A device for supplying a developing solution in a wet-type electrophotographic copying machine has a scraper pressed against a developing roller positioned in confronting relation to a latent-image carrier or photosensitive drum. The scraper and the developing roller jointly form a space of a V-shaped cross section which serves to form a pool of the developing solution. When the developing roller is rotated, the developing solution is drawn upwardly out of the solution pool and uniformly covers the circumferential surface of the developing roller whereupon it is transferred to the latent-image carrier. The apparatus provides a simple way of eliminating air bubbles from the developing solution before it is applied to the latent-image carrier and for applying the developing solution uniformly to the surface of the latent-image carrier.

摘要： A portable image forming device which is moved on an original in a direction perpendicular to a primary scan direction for subscan, and divides original reflection light beams into picture pickup elements in the primary scan direction through an image forming optical system to imageform the pickup elements on a pickup device for reading.
