    摘要: An electrical terminal is shown which includes an insulation displacement type slot which is useable with stranded wire. The insulation displacement slot has two plates at each end of a base portion which are folded up to face one another. The plates form open slots for the receipt of the insulated stranded wire, and the plates are rotatable one towards the other, to bring side edges of the plates through the insulation and against the individual conductor strands for termination therewith. The side edges of the plate portions are formed into arcuate sections which prevent lateral movement of the strands within the slots.

    摘要: An electrical connector is disclosed which comprises an inner shielded body having two hinges stamped from the sidewalls thereof. Spring latching arms are rotatably connected to the hinges and comprise forward portions which include latching surfaces which latch the connector to a complementary connector. The latching arms further comprise, rearward of the hinge, surfaces which converge from front to rear. The outer housing includes an internal camming surface adjacent to the converging surfaces on the spring arms. The housing is axially movable relative to the inner shielded body, thereby to rotate the latch arms and unlatch the connector.

    摘要: An electrical connector assembly includes a metal shell and a plurality of dielectric housings each housing a terminated end of each of a pair of flat cables of the type for transmission of electrical power at substantial current and voltage levels. Each mating terminal pair includes at least one having a contact section having an array of spring arm contact sections deflected by portions of the other when mated. Each termination is proximate a portion of a shell for heat dissipation. One of the shells is adapted for mounting to a bulkhead at a cutout, and the connectors are environmentally sealed to be appropriate for bulkhead mounting. Each connector includes a strain relief assembly suitable for use with flat cables of substantial rigidity and defines a cable exit, all after said terminated cables and housings therearound are assembled into the shell. A jackscrew system is used for facilitating connector mating.

    摘要: The present invention sets forth a low height socket for an integrated circuit chip carrier of the "Tape Pak" type. The unique contact is arranged in the shape of a tuning fork. The chip carrier, having flexible leads projecting outwardly from its sides, is placed in the lower body of the socket with the leads resting on top of their respective tuning fork contacts. The cover, having locking members projecting downwardly and in alignment with the tuning fork contacts, is forced into engagement with the lower body so that the locking members deflect the leads downwardly, bending them about the contacting portion of the tuning fork shaped contacts. The two arms of each tuning fork then has the locking member and a respective lead wedged therebetween.

    摘要: A heater bar assembly intended for use in a soldering apparatus or the like has a laminated self-regulating Curie effect heater mounted on a rigid support member. The heater is rapidly heated in use up to its Curie temperature and maintained at that temperature during a soldering operation so that overheating does not occur and, on the other hand, cold joints are avoided. The heater is slightly resilient, or deformable, so that when it is brought into contact with the wires, it is deformed by the wires thereby increasing the area of contact with the wires. A complete integrated soldering apparatus incorporating the heater bar assembly is also described.

    摘要: An electrical connector (2) for electrically connecting a printed circuit board (6) to a cable (8) has terminals (4) which are provided therein. The cable (8) is maintained in the connector (2) in a recess provided between a housing ( 10) and a shroud (12) of the connector (2). An end of the cable extends into a board receiving channel, the end of the cable having exposed conductors provided thereon. An edge of the printed circuit board (6) is inserted into a board receiving channel of the connector (2) under reduced insertion force conditions. The connector is then rotated relative to the board, causing the terminals to resiliently engage the board. The resilient engagement causes the circuit board (6) to be placed in electrical connection with the cable (8). The board is maintained in position relative to the connector by locking projections (32), thereby insuring that a positive, reliable electrical connection will be effected.

    摘要: An electronic assembly is disclosed comprising a molded dielectric connector means including an electronic package mounted therewithin, the connector means 80 being adapted to be secured to a framework. The connector means includes first and second molded member 82,110 securable together at an interface. The first molded member has outwardly facing surface portion including an interconnection region 94, and includes compliant spring portions 90 integral therewith portions and extending outwardly therefrom at the interface. The compliant spring portions 90 are adapted to be deflected by the second molded member 110 upon assembly of the molded members. Circuit means 92 are included on the first molded member 82 and are defined along the outside surface portions and extending along outwardly facing surface portions of the compliant spring portions 90 and further extending to interconnection region 94. The second molded member 110 includes a portion engagable with the compliant spring portion 90 and circuit means 164, defined on said engagable portion. Upon assembly of the first and second molded members the conductive portions 164 of the second molded member 110 are held under compression against the spring circuit surface 91 and upon mounting the assembly to said framework, the interconnection section 94 of the first molded member circuitry is electrically connected to corresponding contact means along the framework. In the preferred embodiment, resilient member 93 is used to support the spring arm portions 90 to minimize stress on the spring portions 90.
