Abstract: A filter device provides for designs that permit variable levels of solid particle and water molecule removal. The filter device retains the particles and the water molecules in the filter medium when removed, thus avoiding the re-entry of the particles and water molecules when the power system has cooled down as is now likely in conventional filters currently in use. Further, the filter device traps the water molecules already present in the fluid being filtered (i.e., “native water”), as well as any moisture resulting from condensation that may be introduced into the lubrication system whenever it is opened.

Abstract: A filter assembly comprises a housing open at one end, a filter element therein, and a plate at the open end enclosing the filter element within the housing. The filter assembly further includes a fluid flow control assembly disposed between an end of the filter element and the plate. The fluid flow control assembly includes a check valve and a relief valve seat upon which the check valve abuts to prevent flow of fluid through a by-pass passage. The check valve is held in a sealed position against the relief valve seat by a biasing member retained by the relief valve seat. The force of the biasing member is overcome when pressure in the fluid acting upon the check valve reaches or exceeds a certain level, causing the check valve to move away from the relief valve seat, and permitting the fluid to flow through the relief valve assembly to an outlet opening of the filter assembly, bypassing the filter element of the filter assembly.

Abstract: The invention relates to a separation system for simultaneous removal of a solid phase particles and a dispersed phase droplets from a medium being a continuous phase to be purified by filtration, wherein said separation system comprises: a filtration-coalescing element (1) in a form of a fibrous structure, a separating element (2), which is a barrier layer for droplets of said dispersed phase and a drainage gap (3), disposed there between and separating said elements (1) and (2) from each other. Said filtration-coalescing element (1) is a non-woven fibrous structure in the form of a depth non-woven structure composed of fibers packed in a form of a cartridge and it comprises: a filtration layer (1a) being an initial depth filtration layer comprising polymer fibres of nanometric sizes, wherein said fibres composing the layer (1a) have extensively phobic surface properties and having across its thickness a porosity gradient, a coalescing layer (1b) and adjacently following it a dripping layer (1c), both composed of polymer fibres and jointly forming a coalescing structure (1b, c) packaged in the form of a depth gradient structure of fibres, and wherein a porosity gradient across the entire coalescing structure (1b, c) changes in the opposed direction with respect to said porosity gradient in said filtration layer (1a).

Abstract: The invention is directed to a disk segment for a collector typically used in the paper industry. The segment comprises a frame, at least one radially extending rib and at least one transversal rib, the at least one longitudinal rib and the at least one transversal rib being preferably supported by the frame. The transversal rib is preferably substantially perpendicular to the radially extending rib. The disk segment defining two surfaces adapted to receive a mesh that lay over the radially and transversal ribs. The longitudinal rib preferably has a “U”-shape or “S”-shape. The longitudinal rib also preferably defines cavities adapted to receive the transverse ribs thus allowing a mesh surface to lay flat on the segment. Such embodiment has the objective to improve the efficiency of the filter. The mesh, preferably made of metal, is also attached using spot welding and has the objective to facilitate its replacement.

Abstract: A filter candle to separate contaminants from a plastic melt is disclosed. The filter candle has a filter element through which a melt flow is directed to retain contaminants contained in the melt flow, and a supporting body to support the filter element. The supporting body is a hollow body having multiple passages for the melt flow. At least one additional supporting body is on the side of said filter element that faces away from the supporting body. The additional supporting body acts on surface regions of the filter element and/or accommodates them such that the filter element can be backwashable.
