Abstract: A robotic singulation system is disclosed. In various embodiments, sensor data including image data associated with a workspace is received. The sensor data is used to generate a three dimensional view of at least a portion of the workspace, the three dimensional view including boundaries of a plurality of items present in the workspace. The three dimensional view as generated at successive points in time is used to model a flow of at least a subset of said plurality of items through at least a portion of the workspace. The model is used to determine and implement a plan to autonomously operate a robotic structure to pick one or more items from the workplace and place each item singly in a corresponding location in a singulation conveyance structure.

A grasp strategy is determined for each of at least a subset of items, and for each grasp strategy a corresponding probability of grasp success is computed. The grasp strategies and corresponding probabilities of grasp success are used to determine and implement a plan to autonomously operate a robotic structure to pick one or more items from the workplace and place each item singly in a corresponding location in a singulation conveyance structure.

Abstract: An automatic storage and retrieval system is provided that is usable to sort, store and retrieve parcels for delivery. The system provides a multi-layered rail system allowing a high-density storage system for parcels. In some aspects, the parcels may be sorted between parcel containers in different layers, and in some aspects parcel containers may be transferred between layers, allowing individual parcels to be logically sorted and placed within a parcel container according to a delivery destination. Once at a delivery destination, the system may be used to load an unmanned delivery device, such as a robot, with a parcel container associated with the delivery destination.

Abstract: A parcel sorting system and method. The parcel sorting system comprises a parcel sorting device (100) and a parcel collecting device (101); the parcel sorting device is provided thereon with a plurality of parcel inspection inlets (104) and a plurality of parcel outlets (102), and the parcel collecting device is located just below the parcel sorting device; the parcel outlets on the parcel sorting device communicate with the parcel collecting device; the parcel outlets are respectively located at the middle or/and edges of the parcel sorting device; the parcel collecting device is provided thereon with storage devices (103) at positions under respective parcel outlets; and diameter of the storing device is larger than that of the parcel outlet. When the method is used, the parcel sorting efficiency is obviously improved; the implementation is convenient; and popularization and application are facilitated.
