Abstract: An improved hydraulic accumulator is introduced wherein a valve mechanism is used to seal a hydraulic fluid before the pressure charged piston reaches the end of the accumulator to minimize the loss of compressed gas by eliminating the pressure differential when the piston is fully extended, thereby prolonging the fatigue life of the accumulator vessel. Reduction of the pressure loading on the vessel will also prolong the life of the piston seals and metal bellows effectively extending the accumulator life and effectively allowing design for weight reduction and preservation of the integrity of the complete hydraulic or pneumatic system.

Abstract: In the interior of the housing of an accumulator, a metallic bellows and a self-seal mechanism are arranged. The metallic bellows partitions the interior of the housing into a gas chamber and a liquid chamber. The self-seal mechanism includes an elastic seal member and a face which the elastic seal member opposes. When the bellows is compressed to the predetermined extent due to introduction of a compressed gas into the gas chamber, the elastic seal member is brought into contact with the face, thus closing a flow port. The elastic seal member has a slanted face, so that a wedge-shaped liquid guide gap is produced when the elastic seal member is in contact with the face. When, in this condition, the compressed liquid is introduced into the flow port, part of the liquid enters the liquid guide gap, thus permitting the seal member to easily separate from the face.

The fluid supply system comprises a multi-charge solid propellant gas generator and a fluid expulsion unit integrated into a single unit, the gas generator being provided in a cap (8) for a chamber (1) having a gas portion (3) and a fluid portion (2) and a movable partition (4) between these two portions operable to expel fluid from the chamber when the gas generator is rendered operative. The system also comprises ignition control means (22) operable to control the ignition of the solid propellant charges (13) when required to give a fully controllable system output. The system can be designed for supplying under pressure fluids such as hydraulic oil, fuels, oxidants and water and is particularly useful in aerospace applications.

Abstract: A pressure transfer unit having a movable partition including a flexible bellows for separating an internal, controlled-pressure chamber from a reference-pressure chamber. A valve is provided for limiting the volume of liquid that can be injected into and received in the controlled-pressure chamber during filling or refilling thereof. A spring biases the partition to apply a predetermined force to the partition and to shut off fluid transfer in the event of bellows failure. The unit is arranged for simple and rapid assembly and disassembly.

Abstract: A hydraulic accumulator has a chamber divided into compartments by a slidable member and a bellows. The bellows is provided at its outer and inner edges with axially extending portions which nest together when the bellows is compressed by discharge of hydraulic fluid from one of the compartments, whereby relative lateral movement of the bellows segments is prevented.

Abstract: An accumulator designed to damp the pressure waves of the hydraulic shocks originating in a downstream section of a duct is arranged inside the duct, with the opening of the accumulator pointing downstream. This results in excellent absorption of the pressure wave and protection of the circuit from possible accumulations of air, water or ice, there being no areas where the flow stagnates. Immersing the accumulator in the flow also makes it possible to ensure that the equipment is protected in the event of a fire.

Abstract: An accumulator has a pressure vessel, a partition portion comparting an internal space of the pressure vessel into a gas chamber having sealed gaseous matter and a liquid chamber having introduced liquid, and a bellows connected to the partition portion. The partition portion is provided with a bellows connection portion connected to the bellows, a seal arranged in a liquid chamber side of the bellows connection portion, and a seal retention portion fixed to the bellows connection portion and retains the seal. The seal retention portion is constructed by a leaf spring which is elastically deformable in a part thereof, and is structured by integrally forming a fixed portion fixed to the bellows connection portion, and a retention portion retaining the seal. Accordingly, the accumulator can reduce the number of parts of a pressure fluctuation absorbing mechanism, can be easily assembled, and can reduce a parts cost.
