    摘要: An air conditioner with a direction changing device enabling safe handling of condensed water without causing reduction in direction changing capacity in a cooling-mode operation is provided. The air conditioner comprises a main body, air conditioning members provided in the main body for achieving a function of conditioning the air, an outlet grille located in a front side of the main body for directing air from inside the main body to outside the main body and a lateral flap placed in an opening of the outlet grille for changing the direction of air in the lateral direction. A part of the lateral flap is held by a mounting shaft. The lateral flap can be pivotally moved in the lateral direction about the mounting shaft. A convex portion is provided in a downwind end of the lateral flap. When the end portion of the lateral flap is moved either in the right or left direction, condensed water adhered to the lateral flap is gathered at the convex portion, then the condensed water gathered at the convex portion is transferred to a wall of the outlet grille, and flows out of a room through the main body of air conditioner.

    摘要: A rotatable louver assembly (20) for a fan discharge duct (14). The louver assembly has at least two louver slats (21, 22) that are fixed in spatial relationship with respect to each other. A first or upper louver slat (21) has a shape that conforms generally to the shape of a first or upper wall (41) of the discharge duct. The second or lower louver slat (22) has a shape that conforms generally to the shape of a second or lower wall (42) of the discharge duct. The louver assembly has at least two positions. In one position the first louver slat is generally aligned with and spaced from the upper wall to define a generally constant cross-section low loss passageway therebetween for directing air horizontally. In another position the second louver slat is generally aligned with the lower wall to define a generally constant cross-section low loss passageway therebetween for directing the air generally vertically. The assembly may have a third position in which one of the louver slats at least partially blocks the outlet.

The blade is rotatable to various positions of adjustment about an axis defined by hinge pins of the blade mounted in hinge holes of the housing. A plurality of the hinge pins extend in the same direction and are of progressively different lengths so that when the blade is installed in the housing, the hinge pins can be successively inserted into their respective hinge holes; the need to simultaneously align all hinge pins with their hinge holes is avoided. A hinge pin disposed at one end of the blade extends in a direction opposite the other hinge pins and is inserted into an open end of a slot formed in the housing.

Each louver has a hinge pin rotatably supported to form an axis of rotation. A connecting member interconnects a plurality of the hinge pins to transmit rotational movement between those hinge pins. The connecting member is attached to each hinge pin by a flexible connection enabling the hinge pin to rotate relative to the connecting member. The connecting member is disposed within a member which shields the connecting member from the air flow.

    摘要: The present invention includes fins that are juxtaposed at narrow intervals. One side of the fins serves as an upstream side, and the other side thereof serves as a downstream side. Heat exchange air passes through the fins. A bent portion is provided at a substantially middle portion of the fins in the longitudinal direction of the fins, and the fins are bent at the bent portion at a predetermined angle. Heat exchange pipes are provided to penetrate the fins and are arranged in an upstream-side front row and a downstream-side rear row. U-bend portions are provided to connect end portions of adjacent heat exchange pipes. Passageways for guiding a heat exchange medium are formed by the heat exchange pipes and U-bend portions. The passageways introduce the heat exchange medium from a flow introducing unit provided on the upstream side, guide the heat exchange medium from the upstream side to the downstream side at the bent portion, guide the heat exchange medium again to the upstream side, and discharge the heat exchange medium from a flow discharging unit provided on the downstream side.
