    摘要: Provided is a compact inexpensive optical disk drive adaptable to high-density optical disks and having an improved stationary optical unit. The storage device has a first light path and a second light path defined therein. Along the first light path, laser light emanating from a laser light source is passed through a collimator lens and a beam splitter and routed to a movable optical system that is movable on an optical disk. Along the second light path, light reflected from the optical disk and returned from the movable optical system is split into a plurality of rays by the beam splitter, and one of the rays is routed to a sensor via a servo unit and a condenser. An angle at which the second light path meets the first light path is 90°+&agr;° where &agr; denotes a positive number. At this time, a chassis of the storage device is die-cast, and a stationary optical unit having the first and second light paths defined therein is formed as an integral part of the die-cast chassis at an end of the chassis.

    摘要: A disk drive includes an enclosure that defines an exterior surface, the enclosure including a base, a cover and a hinge mechanically coupling the base to the cover such that the hinge forms a portion of the exterior surface of the enclosure. A spindle motor is attached to the base, a disk is mounted to the spindle motor, and a head stack assembly is pivotally coupled to the base. A method of manufacturing a disk drive includes a single (injection, for example) molding step to form an enclosure including the base, the cover and a hinge that mechanically couples the base to the cover such that the hinge forms a portion of the exterior surface of the enclosure. The spindle motor may then be attached to the base, the disk or disks mounted to the spindle motor and the head stack assembly may be pivotally coupled to the base. Alternatively, the base and the cover may be separately provided and the hinge may be molded (by an insert molding process, for example) onto the base and the cover to mechanically couple the base to the cover such that the hinge again forms a portion of the exterior surface of the enclosure.

    摘要: The present invention relates to: a reproduction system including a reproducing device reproducing information stored in a storage medium, a controller having a remote control unit sending a reproduction instruction control signal to the reproducing device and a display unit receiving the reproduced information to display the information; an electronic device including a battery housing and an opening and closing cover, in which the battery housing is opened and closed integrally with the opening and closing cover; and a disc recording and/or reproducing device provided with the electronic device in which a disc installation unit installing a disk as a storage medium and a pickup device for recording and/or reproducing information signals on a disc installed on the disc installation unit are included. A reproduction system according to the present invention comprises: a reproducing device reproducing natural picture information stored in a storage medium; and a controller having a remote control unit sending at least a reproduction instruction control signal to the reproducing device and a display unit receiving natural picture information reproduced by the reproducing device according to the reproduction instruction control signal to display the information. According to the reproduction system, by connecting the reproduction device and the controller, the reproduction instruction control signal is sent from the controller to drive the reproducing device, and natural picture information reproduced by the reproducing device is received by the controller to display the information on the display unit. Accordingly, the reproduction system such as a DVD player is operational in a similar manner to those of a general headphone stereo player and the like, and natural picture information conventionally enjoyed only indoors may be easily enjoyed outdoors.
