    摘要: An apparatus including a first charge collector and an ionic layer, the ionic layer configured to absorb water from the surrounding environment to deliver said water to the apparatus, the apparatus including graphene oxide provided on the first charge collector, the graphene oxide configured to generate protons in the presence of water; a second conductive material spaced apart from the first charge collector, the second material having a lower work function than the first charge collector, the graphene oxide extending from the first charge collector to be in contact with the second material at an interface; wherein the ionic layer is in contact with the graphene oxide and the second material; and wherein the ionic layer includes a room temperature ionic fluid and a solidifying material which provides for the ionic layer to be a solid at room temperature.

    摘要: A gel battery may be fabricated from a gel anode material and a gel cathode material. The battery may further comprise a gel electrolyte material. The gel materials may be in the form of thin films. A gel battery may be formed by contacting at least a portion of a gel anode with at least a portion of a gel electrolyte, and at least a portion of a gel cathode may also be in contact with at least a portion of the gel electrolyte. A battery formed by gel films may also be coated with a material. The gel battery, its anode, cathode, and electrolyte materials may all be non-toxic for an application to an animal.

    摘要: Alkaline batteries are disclosed that advantageously include separators comprising at least one porous layer of fine fibers having a diameter of between about 50 nm and about 3000 nm that provide improved combinations of reduced thickness, dendritic barrier against short-circuiting and low ionic resistance as compared with known battery separators. The fine fibers show improved wet-ability in the alkaline electrolytes.

    摘要: A thickener for use in an alkaline battery provides a gel viscosity ratio (N1h/N12h) of 0.7 to 1.3, the gel viscosity ratio (N1h/N12h) being a ratio of a viscosity (N1h) of a gel after being left to stand for one hour to a viscosity (N12h) of the gel after being left to stand for twelve hours (where the gel viscosity is a viscosity of a gel composed of 2.0 parts by weight of the thickener, 200 parts by weight of zinc powder, and 100 parts by weight of 37 wt % aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide, measured at 40° C. according to JIS K7117-1: 1999). An alkaline battery having a negative electrode gel in which the thickener of the present invention is used is provided. The alkaline battery exhibits improved long-term retention of discharge characteristics (discharge amount and discharge time), and improved impact resistance.
