A control device is a control device that manages a network including a plurality of communication devices. The control device includes: a mode transition unit that makes transition to a leave mode for disconnecting a communication device from the network; an initialization-reset transmitting unit that transmits, when a notification is accepted from at least one communication device of the plurality of communication devices during the leave mode, an instruction for setting a flag and a reset order to the communication device from which the notification is accepted, the flag defining to bring the communication device back to an initial state; and a deleting unit that determines whether or not the instruction for setting the flag and the reset order are received and that deletes information about the communication device connected to the network when it is determined that the instruction for setting the flag and the reset order are received.
Abstract:
Systems and methods relating to communication within a fabric network are presented. The fabric network includes one or more logical networks that enables devices connected to the fabric to communicate with each other using various profiles known to the devices. A device sending a message may follow a general message format to encode the message so that other devices in the fabric may understand the message regardless of which logical networks the devices are connected to. Within the message format, a payload of data may be included for the receiving device to forward, store, or process the message. The format and the contents of the payload may vary according to a header within the payload that indicates a profile and a message type within the profile. Using the profile and message type, the receiving devices may decode the message to process the message.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing registration at a remote site that may include, for example, a monitoring module that may communicate with a remote site. A registration protocol may be used by the monitoring module and the remote site in generating the messages communicated during the registration process. The monitoring module may gather and generate various identification information to be included in the registration protocol messages. The registration information provided by the monitoring module maybe stored at the remote site in a database server having a database. A confirmation message may be communicated from the remote site to the monitoring module that may either acknowledge successful registration or report that an error occurred during the registration process.

A system, method, and computer-readable medium for configuring a controlled device in a control system are provided. A self-describing device Module associated with a controlled device provides capabilities of a controlled device both at runtime and before installation. The controlled device Module includes a capabilities component that provides a description of the controlled device's capabilities both as a capabilities object that can be queried at runtime and in a self-describing capabilities file implemented in a format prior to operational configuration of the Module or controlled device. The Module is configured to generate its runtime capabilities object and self-describing capabilities file.
Abstract:
An access point (AP) in accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure provides a convenient approach to provision wireless devices. In an embodiment, the AP initiates push button mode of WPS procedures with a wireless device, in response to receiving of a provisioning request from the wireless device, without requiring a WPS push button signal locally. The AP thereafter operates to complete provisioning of the wireless device. According to yet another aspect of the present disclosure, a wireless device may also participate in push button mode of WPS, without requiring a push button signal locally. In an embodiment, a wireless device automatically transmits a request for provisioning. An AP within the transmission range, responds back with a command to initiate push button mode of WPS procedures. The wireless device communicates with the AP to complete provisioning.

A method includes storing, at a first network device configured to communicate with at least one set top box (STB) and at least one digital video recorder (DVR), information identifying parameters associated with bandwidth in a home network. The method may also include receiving, at a first network device in the home network, a request having a corresponding first bandwidth and identifying a class of traffic associated with the request. The method may further include determining whether the first bandwidth is less than an available bandwidth associated with the identified class of traffic, approving the request when the first bandwidth is less than the available bandwidth, and modifying the available bandwidth associated with the identified class of traffic in response to approving the request.

A device, a method and a server for performing device identification of electric appliances connected to a network are provided. An information processing device, to which electric appliances are communicably connected via a network, receives a packet (a response packet and/or a passive packet) for determining a type of an electric appliance, from the electric appliances. The information processing device stores definition files defined for each electric appliance in advance, compares the received packet with the definition files for the each electric appliance, scores the packet, extracts a definition file with a high score, and determines electric appliance information of the extracted definition file as electric appliance information of the electric appliance.

A device, a method and a server for performing device identification of electric appliances connected to a network are provided. An information processing device, to which electric appliances are communicably connected via a network, receives a packet at least containing a packet for checking the status of a communication port of the electric appliance. The information processing device stores definition files defined for each electric appliance in advance, compares the received packet with the definition files for each electric appliance, scores the packet, extracts a definition file with a highest score, and determines a type of the electric appliance from the extracted definition file.
