Abstract: In one embodiment, a device in a segment routed network identifies an adjacency segment between the device and another device in the network. The device also identifies a merge point in the network. A first network path extends between the device and the merge point via the adjacency segment. A bypass network path that does not include the adjacency segment also extends between the device and the merge point. The device generates an interior gateway protocol (IGP) message that identifies the adjacency segment and the merge point. The device provides the IGP message to one or more other devices in the network.

Abstract: A line module configured to provide a protected transponded service includes a plurality of ports; switch interface circuitry communicatively coupled to a switch module; and interface circuitry communicatively coupled to the plurality of ports and the switch interface circuitry, wherein the interface circuitry includes a cross-point switch between the plurality of ports and the switch interface circuitry; wherein bandwidth of the plurality of ports is greater than bandwidth of the switch interface circuitry to the switch module; and wherein the protected transponded service is configured between the plurality of ports directly via the interface circuitry and is selectively routed to the switch module via the switch interface circuitry for restoration thereof, responsive to a failure.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems for providing multiple egress routes from a telecommunications network for a client of the network. In general, the system provides for a client of the network to receive intended packets of information through multiple connections to the network such that load balancing and failover services for traffic to the customer are provided. The process and system allows for telecommunications network to utilize a common next-hop value of announced border gateway protocol (BGP) routes to advertise multiple routes to reach a destination customer network or address. By utilizing a common next-hop value in the announced BGP information, the devices of the network may load balance communication packets to the destination customer or address among the multiple egress locations from the network, as well as providing fast failover to alternate routes when a failure at the network or customer occurs.

Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamic output control hierarchy for wireless fire systems and for fire protection before and during the installation thereof are provided. Systems can include a fire system control panel, a gateway device coupled to the control panel, and a mesh network coupled to the gateway device. Responsive to the gateway device detecting a loss of communication with the control panel or a failure of the control panel, the gateway device can control activation of output devices in the mesh network. Responsive to a first device in the mesh network detecting a failure of the gateway device, the first device can control activation of the output devices in the mesh network. In some embodiments, the first device can control activation of the output devices of a second device in the mesh network, and in some embodiments, the first device can self-control activation of its own output devices.

Abstract: An example device includes a processor; a first interface port forming a first datalink to a core network device via a first interconnect device; and a second interface port forming a second datalink to the core network device via a second interconnect device, the first and second datalinks being redundant connections of a link aggregation group (LAG) including a plurality of multiplexed connections within a single network media. The processor is to: remove the first interconnect device while maintaining the second datalink; update firmware of the first interconnect device upon receiving a first indication that the first interconnect device has stopped receiving or transmitting data; and reestablish the redundant connections of the first interconnect device upon receiving a second indication that the first interconnect device has been added back to the LAG. The first and second indications include indications of states in each connection of the multiplexed connections.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for transmitting a link state message in a network. During operation, the system obtains a network topology for the network. Next, the system uses the network topology to identify a reflood set of neighbors of the flooding node for reaching a set of two-hop neighbors of the flooding node. The system then transmits a link state message with an indication to reflood the link state message to the reflood set of neighbors. Finally, the system transmits the link state message without the indication to reflood to remaining neighbors of the flooding node that form a non-reflood set.

Abstract: A device receives traffic; identifies an address associated with the traffic; determines whether the address is associated with an aggregate interface, the aggregate interface being associated with a first port and a second port. The first port corresponds to a first node in a first state, that indicates that the first node is available to forward the traffic, and the second port corresponds to a second node in a second state, that indicates that that the second node is not available to forward the traffic. The device transmits the traffic to the first node via the first port and to the second node, via the second port, when the address is associated with the aggregate interface. Transmitting the traffic enables the second node to forward the traffic when the first node changes from the first state to the second state.
