Abstract:
According to one aspect of the present invention there is provided an improved fluid treatment system, including a low-pressure source, where the low-pressure source imparts a low pressure to at least part of the internal volume of the improved fluid treatment system, and at least one fluid inlet (5), and a primary chamber (2), wherein the primary chamber (2) contains at least one baffle (7) adapted to control the flowrate of fluid out of the primary chamber (2), and, a secondary chamber (3), wherein the secondary chamber (3) defines at least one inclined surface (4), and at least one fluid outlet (10), characterised in that, fluid entering from the fluid inlet (5) is pooled between the primary chamber (2) wall and the baffle (7) before flowing out of the primary chamber (2) past the baffle (7) to form a thin film laminar flow on at least part of the surface of the secondary chamber (3) to remove at least part of the gas entrained within the fluid.
Abstract:
The Radiant Heat Baffle is a removable device which converts a conventional barbeque grill into a smoker by modifying the grill's heat transfer characteristics. The device blocks the primary radiant heat transfer pathway, extends the conductive heat transfer pathways and allows convection heating as the primary means of cooking. The device compartmentalizes the fuel, provides sufficient air flow to sustain combustion and the utility to conveniently add fuel during the cooking process.
Abstract:
A modular food dehydrator utilizing a heater blower assembly located on a top surface of a dehydrator module. The heater blower assembly includes a motor driven fan, a heating element and an air distribution portion for directing heated air across the support surfaces. The heater blower assembly is preferably releasably attachable to the dehydrator module. In a first embodiment, the dehydrator module has a central opening extending generally vertically through the support surfaces in fluid communication with the heater blower assembly for directing heated air radially outward across the plurality of support surfaces. The dehydrator module preferably includes outlet vents on an outer perimeter surface for exhausting the heated air. At least one outlet vent is preferably located between each of the plurality of support surfaces. In a second embodiment, the dehydrator module includes air ducts on an outer perimeter surface in fluid communication with the heater blower assembly for directing pressurized, heated air radially inward across the plurality of support surfaces. The dehydrator module includes a central opening extending generally vertically through the support surfaces in fluid communication with a space between each the support surfaces for exhausting or recirculating heated air.
Abstract:
A mechanical stereo reflex camera is disclosed which is composed of two commercially available mono reflex cameras. The drives (4l,4r) of the two leaf shutters (3l,3r) are cocked together. The release movements are transmitted from the drive of one of the shutters to the drive of the other by means of a two-armed lever.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a procedure and a means for use in pumping and volumetry of foodstuff liquids. According to an embodiment of the invention, the foodstuff liquid is conducted through a suction pipe (14) or a suction tube into an air separator (16) and from the air separator (16) through a pumping device (23) further onwards. The air present among the foodstuff liquid is separated in the air separator (16) with the aid of vacuum in that a vacuum device (20) is activated when the pressure prevailing in the air separator (16) is higher than a preset value. The flow of the foodstuff liquid to the air separator (16) is controlled with a control device (15) disposed in the suction pipe (14), this control device being controlled in accordance with the level of the foodstuff liquid in the air separator (16). When the level of the foodstuff liquid reaches in the air separator (16) an upper level (A) dependent on the magnitude of the flow the control device (15) has been arranged to be fully closed, and when the level of the foodstuff liquid reaches in the air separator (16) a lower level (B) dependent on the magnitude of the flow the control device (15) has been arranged to be fully open, and vice versa. When the level of the foodstuff liquid is rising in the air separator (16) between said upper level (A) and said lower level (B) the control device (15) has been arranged to reduce, and when the level is falling to increase, the foodstuff liquid flow entering the air separator (16).
Abstract:
A steam processor for preparing or warming food items. The processor includes a cooking chamber having a steam inlet and outlet, and an adjacent steam generator for supplying steam to the chamber. The steam generator includes a water level control system for maintaining a water level within the generator within predetermined limits and an immersion heater for vaporizing the water. A steam control is provided that regulates the heater to control the rate at which steam is produced and flows into the cooking chamber. The processor includes an automatic drain feature which discharges any water within the steam generator whenever power to the processor is terminated. A steam condenser that condenses steam exhausted by the chamber is disposed near the outlet of the cooking chamber. The condenser precipitates a sub-atmospheric pressure at the outlet which serves to purge air from the chamber and enhance the flow of steam into the chamber. The water supply for the steam generator flows through a preconditioner which pretreats the water to minimize the formation of deposits in the steam generator and associated plumbing.
Abstract:
Electric heating elements are provided on thermal insulation at the bottom of a housing. A flat pan type water container has a bottom resting on the electric heating elements and a top in spaced parallel relation with the bottom and has perforations formed through the top for releasing steam produced by heating water in the container. A plurality of U-shaped support members are removably mounted in the housing in spaced parallel relation extending perpendicularly from the bottom of the housing and extending beyond the housing. Each of the support members has pan supporting devices for supporting a plurality of baking pans within the support members in spaced parallel relation with the bottom of the housing. A cover of transparent material is provided over the support members.
Abstract:
A centrifugal rotor is provided with an inlet for a mixture of two liquid components to be separated from each other and of which one component is high viscous, the rotor also having outlets for the respective separated components. A displacement pump is inserted in the discharge pipeline of a paring means which forms the outlet for the highly viscous component, and the throughput capacity of this pump is adjustable during operation to control the discharge of the two separated components from the rotor.
