摘要: A passive radio-frequency redirector device is provided that includes: a polarized antenna configured to produce a radiation pattern in an azimuthal plane; and a directional antenna configured to produce a directional radiation pattern that is substantially complementary to the radiation pattern of the polarized antenna, wherein the directional radiation pattern is substantially cross-polarized relative to the radiation pattern of the polarized antenna, and the polarized antenna and the directional antenna are passively coupled together.

摘要: A plug connection arrangement for mechanically and electromagnetically coupling a radiation source to a dielectric waveguide and a system for transmitting data by electromagnetic radiation. The plug connection arrangement has a housing which can be mounted on a printed circuit board. The radiation source generates electromagnetic waves. The radiation source is enclosed, in a mounted state, on the printed circuit board, at least in sections, by the housing and the receiving unit for receiving and aligning the dielectric waveguide is connected to the housing. The dielectric waveguide, which can be received by the receiving unit, in the received state, can be electromagnetically coupled to the radiation source.

摘要: A switchboard controller for a parasitic antenna array. The switchboard controller has an internal bias tee mounted within an RF-shielded enclosure. The internal bias tee has an RF port, a DC port, and an RF & DC port. The RF port is configured to be connected to a driven element of the parasitic array antenna, and the RF & DC port is configured to be connected to an RF and DC source. The switchboard controller also has a voltage regulator mounted within the enclosure and is electrically connected to the DC port. The switchboard controller also has a plurality of manual switches electrically connected to the voltage regulator, each switch operatively connected to a separate parasitic element of the parasitic array antenna. The switches are mounted on the back side of a frame in a 2-dimensional pattern that is similar to the physical layout of the parasitic elements.

摘要: An apparatus includes a first circuit and a plurality of second circuits. The first circuit may be configured to generate a pair of quadrature signals from a radio-frequency signal. The second circuits may each comprise a plurality of cascode amplifiers. The cascode amplifiers may be connected in parallel. The cascode amplifiers may be configured to generate a plurality of intermediate signals by modulating the quadrature signals in response to a first control signal and a second control signal. The first control signal generally switches a contribution of the cascode amplifiers in the generation of the intermediate signal. The second control signal may adjusts a total current passing through all of the cascode amplifiers.

摘要: An antenna includes a feeding element and at least one non-feeding element. A vertical distance between each non-feeding element and the feeding element falls within a specified threshold, each non-feeding element includes a first conductor that is grounded, a regulator circuit, and a control switch disposed on the first conductor and configured to control the regulator circuit, where the regulator circuit is configured to regulate a current path length of the non-feeding element. The non-feeding element forms a reflector when the regulator circuit is enabled, or the non-feeding element forms a director when the regulator circuit is disabled. A design in which the reflector and the director are compatible is used such that a combination of one feeding element, M directors and N reflectors is implemented for the antenna to achieve a high directive gain and interference suppression capability.

摘要: An apparatus includes a package and a beam former circuit. The package may be configured to be mounted on an antenna array at a center of four antenna elements. Each antenna element may include a dual-pole antenna having a vertical feed and a horizontal feed. The beam former circuit may be (i) disposed in the package, (ii) have a plurality of pairs of ports, (iii) configured to generate a plurality of radio-frequency signals in the ports while in a transmit mode and (iv) configured to receive the radio-frequency signals at the ports while in a receive mode. Each pair of the ports is configured to be directly connected to a respective one of the antenna elements. All of the ports may be spatially routed into alignment with the vertical feeds and the horizontal feeds in a single conductive plane of the antenna array.

摘要: An In-Building Communications system is disclosed which permits communication in tunnels, underground parking garages, tall buildings such as skyscrapers, buildings having thick walls of concrete or metal, and/or any building which has communication dead zones due to electromagnetic shielding. The invention includes a portable bi-directional amplifier (BDA) system, an outdoor antenna system attached to the building or independently mountable, an indoor antenna system attached to the building or independently mountable inside the building, and a standardized, In-Building Communications (IBC) interface box affixed preferably to the exterior of the building. The interface box communicates with antenna systems attached to the building. The fire department or other emergency response personnel carry portable outdoor and indoor antenna systems and a portable, lithium-ion battery powered, bi-directional amplifier (BDA) system which may be connected to the building during an event such as a fire, earthquake, or an act of terrorism or whenever radio coverage enhancement is required. The portable BDA system is simply connected to the standardized, IBC interface box and powered thus restoring communications within.

An end of each of the conductor columns is exposed through the dielectric member. The dielectric member defines a mounting surface that faces a mounting substrate. A step is formed in a side surface of a composite structure that includes the dielectric substrate and the dielectric member, and a side surface extending from the mounting surface to the step is more recessed than a side surface that is located above the step.
