Abstract: Autonomous vehicles, and user-driven vehicles with an emergency intervention capability, can communicate to avoid collisions using 5G/6G technology, but this level of cooperation is possible only if the threatened vehicles have already determined the relative location and wireless address of the other vehicle. Disclosed is a method for wireless vehicles in traffic to exchange distance and angular information of the other vehicles in view, from which a position map can be prepared indicating the relative locations of each participating and non-participating vehicle. In addition, the traffic map can be annotated with the wireless addresses of the participating vehicles, thereby enabling them to communicate instantly in an emergency. The traffic map may be prepared or updated by one of the vehicles in traffic, or by a roadside access point. Satellite data is not necessary for the relative localization, but may be included if available.

Abstract: A wireless repeater device and a configuration method for the same are provided. The wireless repeater device is configured to: connect to a target network provided by a DHCP server; send a detection packet to the target network to confirm transmission modes supported by the DHCP server; confirm whether a request for dynamically obtaining an IP address from a client device is received; forward a request packet to the DHCP server, which instructs the DHCP server to respond in a first transmission mode; receive a response to the request from the DHCP server and forward it to the client device; confirm whether the request from the client device is still received, if so, modify the request packet and forward it to the DHCP server, and the request packet is modified to instruct the DHCP server to respond in a second transmission mode.

Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for address changing schemes in a wireless communications system. Some embodiments include an access point (AP) that can establish two or more address profiles with a station (STA), establish a schedule for switching from a first address profile to a second address profile, where the first and second address profiles are of the two or more address profiles, and transmit a first data transmission using the first address profile. Some embodiments include switching from the first address profile to the second address profile based on the schedule, and transmitting a second data transmission using the second address profile. The schedule can be based on a randomized time synchronization function (TSF). The AP can establish a joint algorithm with the STA, and use the joint algorithm determine the first and the second address profiles as well as transition times for the schedule.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for dynamic medium access control (MAC) address distribution in a wireless network. A station (STA) may receive, from an access point (AP), a frame that includes an indicator indicating at least one MAC address type or MAC address policy supported by an extended service set (ESS) associated with the AP. The indicator may comprise an 8 bit bitmap. The STA may then transmit, to the AP, a request message that includes MAC Address Assignment Protocol information determined based on the at least one MAC address type or MAC address policy. The STA may receive a response message that includes a local medium access control (MAC) address assigned based on the MAC Address Assignment Protocol information. The STA may transmit, to the AP, an association request frame with the local MAC address.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and systems for selecting appropriate gateway servers for user devices with different device capabilities are disclosed. In one example aspect, a wireless communication method includes provisioning multiple wireless electronic devices of a user with a first access point name, and receiving, from a wireless electronic device of the multiple wireless electronic devices of the user, a request for establishing a data session. The method also includes determining, in part based on a capability of the wireless electronic device, a second access point name that is different from the first access point name and selecting a packet gateway server corresponding to the capability of the wireless electronic device using the second access point name. The method further includes establishing the data session between the packet gateway server and the wireless electronic device.

Abstract: A digital data communications network that supports efficient, scalable routing of data and use of network resources by combining a recursive division of the network into hierarchical sub-networks with repeating parameterized general purpose link communication protocols and an addressing methodology that reflects the physical structure of the underlying network hardware. The sub-division of the network enhances security by reducing the amount of the network visible to an attack and by insulating the network hardware itself from attack. The fixed bandwidth range at each sub-network level allows quality of service to be assured and controlled. The routing of data is aided by a topological addressing scheme that allows data packets to be forwarded towards their destination based on only local knowledge of the network structure, with automatic support for mobility and multicasting. The repeating structures in the network greatly simplify network management and reduce the effort to engineer new network capabilities.

Abstract: In selected embodiments, on-premises equipment of a cellular network provides local breakout functionality so that user plane data packets (PDNs/PDUs) are routed between the home/enterprise network and the Internet directly, bypassing a cloud-based core of the cellular network. The UE's control traffic is still routed to/from the core. The core may be an Evolved Packet Core (EPC) in a 4G LTE network, or a 5G Core (5GC) in a 5G network. The UE's IP addresses may be assigned by the core, or locally, by the on-premises equipment. Providing the IP context from the on-premises network allows the UE to connect to local devices, e.g., printers, disc raids, gaming and streaming nodes, and other local devices. The local IP context also pushes the complexity of the EPC core deployment to the cloud while reducing the overhead of cloud processing that comes with user plane data processing.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes receiving, from an application framework, a set of tasks, a throughput requirement for each task of the set of tasks, and a set of active connections for a radio network comprising a Wi-Fi radio and a Zigbee radio. The computer-implemented method also includes determining, using the set of tasks, the throughput requirement for each task of the set of tasks, and the set of active connections, a target Wi-Fi radio duty cycle and setting the Wi-Fi radio to operate at the target Wi-Fi radio duty cycle. The computer-implemented method further includes monitoring, using a monitoring unit, air time statistics associated with the Wi-Fi radio, determining, using the air time statistics, a measured Wi-Fi duty cycle, and adjusting Wi-Fi radio settings to decrease a difference between the target Wi-Fi duty cycle and the measured Wi-Fi duty cycle.
