    摘要: A multi-piece sonde configuration for use in troubleshooting a pipe and providing precise location of the problem includes a sonde carrier having a first end adapted to attach to a line and a second opposite end adapted to attach to a troubleshooting device. The multi-piece sonde can include a first carrier having a sonde housing with a central fluid passageway and a sonde transmitter operably positioned about the central fluid passageway. A second carrier can include a housing with a central fluid passageway and a power source carried by the second carrier. A flexible connector has a central fluid passageway and first and second opposing ends, and the first carrier is operably connected to the first end of the flexible connector and the second carrier is operably connected to the second end of the flexible connector. An electrical connection between the power source and the sonde transmitter can be carried by the flexible connector.

The device also includes a drive system supporting the body and configured to maneuver across the gutter. A driven impeller disposed on the body defines an axis of rotation. The impeller has at least one agitator oriented about the axis of rotation. The axis of rotation is arranged at an angle to the forward drive direction to aim toward an inside corner of the gutter to eject agitated debris from the gutter and away from the impeller.

The cleaning shuttle inside the channel, and the conveyance device positioned outside the channel, have significant magnetic attraction for each other, so that the cleaning shuttle is pulled through the channel by conveyance device without becoming lodged or stuck in the channel.

The apparatus comprises a control element (15) movable between (a) a first position in which at least one fluid path exists between at least one said fluid inlet and at least one said first fluid outlet (19); and (b) a second position in which at least one fluid path exists between at least one said fluid inlet and at least one said second fluid outlet (17). The fluid paths formed comprise at least one curvilinear portion.

    摘要: Drain Cleaning Apparatus for rotating a drain cleaning snake comprises a frame and housing assembly supporting an axially displaceable clutch actuating shaft which supports a first clutch actuator for rotation relative thereto and axial displacement therewith. A second clutch actuator is coaxial with the first actuator and supported in the housing for rotation relative thereto. A radially expandable and contractible clutch is captured between the two clutch actuators for engaging and disengaging a drain cleaning snake extending therethrough. A motor drives the first clutch actuator through a transmission pulley and belt arrangement in which the belt is axially slidable relative to a pulley in response to axial displacement of the first clutch actuator relative to the second clutch actuator. The clutch and second clutch actuator are in a shroud at one end of the housing, and the axial position of the second actuator relative to the first actuator is adjustable. The shroud is mounted on the flame to facilitate removal and replacement of the clutch and access to the second clutch actuator, and a housing portion adjacent the shroud is removable to provide access to the transmission components.

    摘要: An improved pipe cleaning tool employing a cutting head and propulsor utilizes a plurality of roller cutters on the cutting head. The rolling cutters are coupled in a pairwise fashion to a rotatable car. The rotatable car in turn is pivoted to the cutting head. Each of the cars and, hence, the radial disposition of each of the roller cutters, is resiliently urged by a spring bias into a preferred radial disposition relative to the longitudinal axis of the cutting head. Moving the pipe cleaning tool through a curve or past other internal obstruction within the pipe is facilitated by rotation of the roller cutter cars and their corresponding roller cutters. In one embodiment, the propulsor disks in the propulsor unit are comprised of a plurality of rigid metal segments pivoted to the propulsor body. The propulsor disk segments rotate on the propulsor unit both during the oscillatory forward motion of the pipe cleaning tool as well as during the turning through a bend or past some other internal obstruction within the pipe. Some of the propulsor segments may also be provided with a plurality of peripheral nozzle cuts for defining fluid jets in the fluid flow passing the pipe cleaning tool. A rotatable tracker is combined with the tool to provide an electromagnetic signal directly indicating flow of fluid past the tool.
