A vaporization part is provided with a plurality of cavities on an upper surface thereof and at least one dropping nozzle is provided above each cavity, wherein the disinfection gas carried by the heated carrier gas is applied on a surface of a material to be sterilized through a droplet splash removing apparatus. The droplet splash removing apparatus has a series of vertically, spaced-apart shield plates with staggered holes therein through which the vaporized disinfectant and carrier gas pass and entrained droplets of disinfectant liquid are removed.

Disclosed herein is a process for the efficient production of .kappa.-casein GMP on an industrial scale. The production of high-purity .kappa.-casein GMP is realized by using an effluent of rennet-casein curd free of whey proteins, lactose and the like as a starting effluent, adjusting the pH of the effluent to an acidic range to remove calcium phosphate and then subjecting the resulting effluent to a desalting treatment. .kappa.-Casein GMP is used as a standard substance for the assay of sialic acid. It has also attracted attention for its physiological activities and other properties.

An apparatus for the production of encapsulated bodies employing a dropping tank for a fluid to form the cores of the encapsulated bodies and a reaction tank containing a solution capable of forming gel skins upon contact with the core material in communication therewith. Double-walled cylindrical nozzles are arranged in a lower part of the drop tank, the inner and outer walls of the double-walled cylindrical nozzles being coaxial. A pressurized air feed pipe is in communication with an upper part of the dropping tank. The peripheral walls of the reaction tank are in the form of a double-walled cylinder whose upper peripheral portion of its inner wall contains a screen. A liquid feed pipe and a capsule discharge port are provided in communication with the interior of the reaction tank through lower parts of the double-walled cylinder. A liquid discharge port also is provided in communication with an annular spacing of the double-walled cylinder through its outer wall.The apparatus provides for obtaining a dispersion of encapsulated bodies without their mechanical separation from the liquid in which they are prepared.

At least a pair of rails runs through the container sterilization means and the fill-and-pack means. The containers are hung by the rails and they are intermittently carried by a first intermittent carrying means and the container sterilization means and by a second intermittent carrying means in the fill-and-pack means. The machine is arranged such that it is readily adjustable for different sized containers without allowing germs in the atmosphere to enter into the machine. The container sterilization means for further comprises an air current control means to control the flow of the sterilization agent and to fully sterilize the containers.

An outer container is detachable mounted on a neck of an inner container having its interior previously sterilized and sealed with a portion of the inner container underlying the neck being sealed. Such container assembly of double structure is sterilized and dried, then transferred into a germ-free filling chamber isolated from the atmosphere here the top of the inner container is cut off, then the inner container is filled with food or drink and the cut off portion is sealed again. Finally the outer container is separated from the inner container outside the germ-free filling chamber.
