Abstract: A deterioration amount estimation device includes a calculation unit (CPU33) that calculates a deterioration amount of an energy storage device and an estimation unit (CPU33) that estimates a transient deterioration amount based on a deterioration amount calculated by the calculation unit and a continuous deterioration amount that does not decrease with time and continues. The transient deterioration amount is estimated, and the input/output of the energy storage device is limited to suppress an increase in the continuous deterioration amount.

Abstract: An electric storage device includes an electric storage element including an external terminal, and a bus bar connected to the external terminal. The bus bar includes a thin-walled portion and a thick-walled portion, the thin-walled portion being located around outer edges of the bus bar. The thin-walled portion and the external terminal are directly welded together. A thickness of the thin-walled portion is less than a thickness of a remaining portion of the bus bar including the thick-walled portion.

Abstract: An electric storage device includes an electrode assembly, a case that includes a defining wall and houses the electrode assembly, a sealing member that is arranged on the defining wall, and a conductive member that is electrically connected to the electrode assembly, the conductive member being supported by the sealing member. At least a portion of the defining wall where the sealing member is arranged includes an aluminum-based metallic material. The sealing member includes a material that is softer than the material for the at least a portion of the defining wall where the sealing member is arranged. The sealing member includes polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) resin and an elastomer. The elastomer is contained in an amount of 2% to 20% by weight. The conductive member is crimped in such a manner that the sealing member is pressed against the defining wall.

Abstract: A battery includes an output terminal, an electric storage device, a relay connected to the output terminal and the electric storage device, and a monitoring apparatus including a detector and a controller, the detector being configured to detect a variation value corresponding to an amount of charge of the electric storage device, the controller receiving an engine activation signal and switching a state of the relay to a closed state. If an engine is not started, the controller switches the state of the relay to an open state.

Abstract: An electric energy management system includes: an energy storage device; a generator connected to the energy storage device; a load which is connected to the energy storage device and to the generator and is operated with a supply of an electric energy from the energy storage device and the generator; an electric energy control part configured to control the supply of electric energy to the load from the generator; a detection part configured to detect an abnormal state of the energy storage device; a current cutoff part configured to cut off an electric current between the energy storage device and the load; and a control part configured to issue an advance notice to cut off the electric current to the electric energy control part after the abnormal state is detected by the detection part and before the electric current is cut off by the current cutoff part. The electric energy control part is configured to control the supply of electric energy to the load from the generator based on the advance notice.
