A method for fabricating a current-perpendicular-to-plane (CPP) giant magnetoresistive (GMR) sensor of the synthetic spin valve type is provided, the method including an electron-beam lithographic process employing both primary and secondary electron absorption and first and second self-aligned lift-off processes for patterning the capped ferromagnetic free layer and the conducting, non-magnetic spacer layer. The sensor so fabricated has reduced resistance and increased sensitivity.

It is known that the magnetic shields, between which CPP GMR stacks are sandwiched, can be a source of AMR (anisotropic magneto-resistance) noise. This has been significantly reduced by coating both the magnetic shields with highly conductive layers. If the guidelines disclosed in the invention are followed, the read head can exhibit AMR noise reduced by about 14 to 20. Additionally, the total thickness of the read gap can be maintained to be as low as 300 to 400 Angstroms.

A method for forming top and bottom spin valve sensors and the sensors so formed, the sensors having a strongly coupled SyAP pinned layer and an ultra-thin antiferromagnetic pinning layer. The two strongly coupled ferromagnetic layers comprising the SyAP pinned layer in the top valve configuration are separated by a Ru spacer layer approximately 3 angstroms thick, while the two layers in the bottom spin valve configuration are separated by a Rh spacer layer approximately 5 angstroms thick. This allows the use of an ultra thin MnPt antiferromagnetic pinning layer of thickness between approximately 80 and approximately 150 angstroms. The sensor structure produced thereby is suitable for high density applications.

A method of forming a DSMR head comprises the steps of forming a first ferromagnetic (FM) strip on a substrate with a first anti-FM (AFM) pinning layer over a portion of the first ferromagnetic strip, the first AFM pinning layer being composed of a first material. Then perform a first high temperature annealing step. Form a non-magnetic layer over the strip and the pinning layer. Then form a second FM strip on the non-magnetic layer, and form a second AFM pinning layer over a portion of the second FM strip, with a second AFM pinning layer being composed identically of the first material. Perform a second high temperature annealing step on the first and second FM strips and the first and second pinning layers and the intermediate non-magnetic layer in the presence of a second magnetic field antiparallel to the first magnetic field. A head with NiFe FM strips and FeMn or MnPt, etc, AFM layers for both strips is provided.

A specular spin valve structure that is more robust than currently available specular spin valves is described. The improved stability is achieved by a using a modified pinned layer that is a laminate of three layers—a layer nickel-chromium, between about 3 and 4 Angstroms thick, sandwiched between two layers of cobalt-iron. A key requirement is that the cobalt-iron layer closest to the copper separation layer must be about twice as thick as the other cobalt-iron layer. A process for manufacturing this structure is also disclosed.

A two-pin plug self-locking column sling groove and a hole accommodating a fastening nut are defined in the two-pin plug outer plug bodies. When a two-pin plug rotating tube is rotated counterclockwise, two-pin plug electrodes are pulled out of socket power supply sleeves, and the two-pin plug electrodes are retracted into an inner cavity of the two-pin plug. The two-pin plug rotating tube is continuously rotated to unlock the two-pin plug self-locking head, so the two-pin plug is separated from the safety socket. A use method of the three-pin plug is similar to that of the two-pin plug.
